Lag making the game un-playable right now. Those of you working are not missing anything.

Yep. Even on servers with a good ping I just rubberband around everywhere. I managed to get about 5 minutes of lag-free play in and it was very good, although I miss prone .

I wouldn't say it feels exactly like a PC battlefield game (this might just be lack of prone and the different game mode), but that's what BF3 is for I guess. Either way, it should be lots of fun. And the sounds are EXCELLENT ^_^

Edit: At 1920*1080 on the system in my sig it's fairly smooth maxed with 4xAA/16xAF. If I turn off AA and HBAO it never slows down. AA only seems to work on some things too, like it smooths out my gun but anything that shares a border with the sky seems to be jaggy still.

what's HBAO supposed to do anyways, in simple terms?

and yeah... can't even play right now due to server issues. server browser CTDs and before it couldn't connect to servers or you get kicked if you join.

You've got single player, which is you and three assistant bots, against a world of bots.
Then there's coop mode, where you and 1 to 15 of your friends play against 1 to 16 enemies. (aka, multiplayer ).

the first post of the thread says NO to COOP stuff. Nor did it mention being to play against bots in MP, hence me asking.

waiting for this whole "internet multiplayer with other people" to blow over?

sometimes people are asshats, and I would rather gather a few friends in a squad, and go after the bots for a while without faggy losers getting in the way of the fun :biggrin:

Totally agree. It feels like it's own game, sort of separate from the BF franchise - but not in a bad way. Just unique. I'll be the first to admit that I miss prone too - which is stupid because it's a video game and who CARES if you can lie down.

It basically adds shading to objects to give them a more realistic appearance.

I don't really get why they took out prone either. Maybe they're scared because of all the problems they had with dolphin diving before lol.

I think it'd be good if prone was a server side option, so you could have the "fast paced" no prone servers, and servers with prone for those who want to lie down. It just feels weird when you see a tank rolling towards you not being able to go prone next to the nearest wall so he doesn't see you. Although with the destructible environments the tank would probably just roll over the wall and squish you D:

I ran across a Tweet this afternoon saying that they thought prone promotes camping, which I can't disagree with. Nothing worse than being spawn camped by a proned-out sniper six thousand feet away.

just give it time guys, its beta. The other BF games had the same issues in beta (played both BF2 and 2142 in beta).

Well at this moment i cant even play due to CTD. The short 2 hours I had were fun. They need to fix a lot. I felt weird without prone with some guy shooting at me and I was looking for cover but my head was sticking out..

Player sens seem to high and vehicle seems a bit low.

I think other BF games were like this? Player high, tank turrets medium, emplacements so very slow

I remember thinking the on the fly sensitivity adjustments on my new mouse were a life saver when I first go the mouse
