I was following up on that German reporter saying they were going to get to go to DICE and spend two days playing the PC version of BFBC2 (earlier
message in this thread), and found an interesting fact about the GameStop exclusive early access to Squad Rush mode (

Rumors and Truth Squad to Rush Mode
Since yesterday, there are rumors about an action of GameStop around the new mode Squad Rush mode. The focus Infantry 4on4 mode is probably the most interesting mode in terms of leagues and ladders and just promises for small team a lot of fun. Well GameStop offered exclusively to this mode in advance in their shop, which made for some uneasiness. And here comes the all-clear: it is an action only for the U.S. market.
As you could read at GameStop:
Reserve Battlefield Bad Company 2 GameStop and receive exclusive early access to the new multiplayer game mode, squad Rush.
That would mean nothing less than all the other players would have to wait a while on this mode, which is not entirely unjustly brought some unrest and discussions with him. Since we lacked the appropriate information, we have launched an inquiry abruptly at EA and DICE, which is now brought to light the following:
... the Gamestop promotion is valid only for the U.S. market. The Germans immediately be release to benefit from the new mode.
Thus, we can thus directly give all-clear and are all looking forward to another game mode.
Sorry Canadians, you're probably part of the US market also.

Saw this twitter exchange today:
mwduncan: @Demize99 Is the final PC version going to have mods or at least dedicated servers. This was a big reason I didn't buy MW2.
Demize99: @mwduncan Dedicated servers are a big yes. No mod tools
day one. Www.battlefield.com has more info.
I'm guessing the rest of the DICE guys all face-palmed when they saw the "day one" comment. I thought they put that issue to rest...

Not much action yet today on the FOV controversy from yesterday. People on the interwebs are drawing their own conclusions that the PC FOV is 60. I haven't seen anyone from DICE quote an actual number, yet.
Just caught someone actually addressing the issue on Twitter:
Just_do_it_ffs: @Demize99 @repi Will a guy with 4:3 display see as much as a guy with 16:10 horizontally even though he have a much much wider screen?
repi: BC2PC on a 16:10 monitor will result in a wider horizontal FOV compared to 4:3 because of the higher aspect ratio
Sounds like it's not exactly fixed, after all. repi is one of the main devs developing the Frostbite engine.
