You haven't noticed any bugs in this game? Wow.

I said I haven't noticed many....many =/= any, notice the m? I've seen a few small bugs, not any game breaking ones. Maybe my expectations are just low cause its a DICE game, but GA makes it sounds like it's unplayable.

There's a discussion going on in the Video Card forum about how cpu bound this game is. Since it's the Beta and they said they are still going to add functionality and optimizations to the game, people are arguing about it over there. Supposedly it doesn't stress 2 cores correctly but that's for those people to argue about. I didn't get any FPS increase when I went from 3.4GHz to 3.53 but that's such a small bump I doubt it'd register at all but since I could easily tell the difference between 8xAA and 4xAA performance that says it's probably more GPU bound.

Here's some benchmarks that someone did in that thread:

http://gamegpu.ru/images/stories/Ab.../Battlefield_Bad_Company_2_Beta_1920x1080.jpg

I got about a 10FPS increase from going from 4xAA to 8xAA. Whenever an explosion happens right next to me and dust is shot up and everything I notice slowdown, drops to about 20fps or so when i was using fraps, but for the most part it's quite playable.

First: it's been said a bunch of times that this is an old client we're working with here AND that the high res textures aren't in said client. So trying to judge performance and what have you at this point isn't really worth your time. Do yourself a favor and wait until launch.

Second: let's rent a server. If we get it from Gameservers it's ~$40/mo for a 32 slot server. If we have eight to ten people donate a few bucks a month (for admin rights, natch) we could keep it up and running. Who would be down for that - apart from me?

I'd be down for 8-10 bucks for a good spot to play. Where are you located though.

Man, the more I play this game, the more addicting it gets. I haven't even really tried vehicles yet.

"Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Will Feature WWII Level" claims Kotaku.

==================================================

badcompanytwo.com tell us that "Ea has graciously released a tactical guide Manuel available only to Battlefield veterans."

The tactical manuel is very detailed. It gives you overviews of each map, as well as the ability to see a arial recon photographs just like you could see in Battlefield 2. Also there is a “Strategy” section, where DICE Dev, Gordon Van *** breaks down some of his favorite strategies. Below is a full list of stuff available to veterans.

* Full Map descriptions, aerial overviews, hot spots
* Full weapon descriptions
* A full List of all unlockable weapons, gadgets and vehicles

If your not a veteran, or your new to the Battlefield series, your gonna want to go out and buy all of these past battlefield games so you can get access to this site. Plus, your veteran status is displayed by your ingame name on the scoreboard of each game!

Unfortunately, they don't tell us how to access this guide. I don't see it over on the Battlefield Veterans site.

Edit: Here it is, compliments of Planet Battlefield: http://ultimateprestige.com/

www.battlefieldcommunity.nl has a gallery of graphics extracted from the game, including all the medal and insignias Here.

Xbox 360 achievement tracking outfit at Xbox360achievements.org has posted the 50 achievements for the Xbox 360 version of Bad Company 2. The 50 achievements add up to the usual 1000 Gamerpoints, as all other Xbox 360 retail games. It seems that the achievements are split so that 2/3 are for the campaign and 1/3 for the multiplayer part. Check out all the achievements here.

The first batch of achievements give an outline of the single player campaign.

So my battlefield veteran rank is 1... I only have BF2, BF2 special forces, and 2142... So what does the different ranks mean?

I have a rank of 3. BF:V, BF2, BF2142, BF:Heroes and in BF: BC2 it shows me with a rank of 4 so who knows but it just seems like if you have any veteran rank you'll get the unlock but since it hasn't been released yet we don't know.
