Holy crap. I almost wet myself when I read that post, Gully. I'll pop some champagne if they really release two brand new BC2 maps.

I also don't understand why VOIP isn't one of their top priorities in a multiplayer game.

i don't understand why things like voip and the other issues mentioned aren't functional to begin with. they shouldn't ship with things like that broken.

On the one hand I don't care as much because I always end up using a 3rd party voice chat even when the in-game VOIP is excellent.

On the other hand it does seem ridiculous because many of the same 3rd party voice chat programs offer their technology to be employed into the game and used as the voice system within the game. Apparently they just don't want to pony up for the license.

the thing is, DICE had functional Voip in their previous BF games. did they all of a sudden forget what they learned? are the devs different people? i don't get why they don't use the same voip system that was functional.

It's 4 maps for BFBC2. Two from the single player campaign, and two maps formerly seen in Bad Company 1.
Not saying it's true, just explaining what he said.

We have an interesting set of articles to publish for everyone so keep checking the blog for more information :).

Questions and Answers

On 2 sundays in a row, the player stats of PS3 players have been resetted without any notification given by EA. What is causing the resets?
Occasionally EA servers require a restart at unscheduled times, we only do this if it is urgent or required for an update to the EA servers.

Scopes on G3 and M14? yes or no once and for all?
We are receiving many questions about this and Demize99 has already explained they won’t be in there anytime soon and is constantly under review.

Any chance of getting friendly mine indicators on the gadget or the mini map like the c4 has?
It is something we haven’t considered adding but is a possible addition in the future. We however don't know when this will happen.

New Battlefield Blog Post: Tokyo Game Show -- Get ready for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam!

TOKYO.jpg

Packing is pretty much done! :)

This is it! I am going to Tokyo Game Show to showcase Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam for the first time -- and to spend some quality time with the Japanese Battlefield Community.

As you may already know, Vietnam is an expansion pack to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 with 4 brand new maps built in Frostbite, as well as Vietnam specific weapons, vehicles, persistence, unlocks, and achievements/trophies.

Check out the Vietnam trailer from E3 below, and stay tuned for more info straight from the show floor in Tokyo!

BFBC2 Teaser Trailer on YouTube

Hey, didn't I hear this last bit from somewhere else?

Tokyo Game Show takes place September 16-19

New Battlefield Blog Post: Community Worldwide #1

* BY: zh1nt0
* POSTED : Sep 08, 2010, 04:00PM

I'm starting a new article series on the blog called Community Worldwide.

In this article series you will get acquainted to many different players, newsposters and also people that are starting up in the Battlefield Community. This goes for all Battlefield series too so it doesn't matter if you play good old BF'42 or Bad Company 2, message me on Twitter or drop me a line in the EA UK Forums and let's get you and your team showcased on our blog site:).

Since GirlGamers are competing more and more in the world of E-sports I decided to speak with Lili and post some information about them on our blog.

They are currently undefeated in the ESL German Squad Rush 4on4 Ladder with 4 wins and 0 losses. http://www.esl.eu/eu/#/de/bfbc2/squadrush/4on4/ladder/team/4177806/

I'm kicking off this article series with a female-gaming team from Germany called Ch!cZ de|uXe composed by players from several different teams. To visit their website, click this link http://chicz.zockerweibchen.de
I got a hold of the team manager Lili and asked her to tell me about her team and the players and here is the result!

So in their own words:

The idea of a female-gaming team started in the beginning of 2009 and shortly after that, we started playing together. We actually started out before that as a Battlefield 2 Female-gaming team with 5 players. We played loads of clan battles against other teams. However, only Lili and blackMAMBA-loca are left from the old lineup. Many of our players are also active in other clans.
The BC2 Female team was put together as a new team, and was set to start in the German 4vs4 Squad Rush Ladder. We were also thinking about participating in different Cups but since the cups are already up and running it really makes no sense to join them now.
The search for new BC2 female-players was actually a lot easier than back in Battlefield 2. We just gathered a few girls who also brought their friends with them. What also was a deciding factor, was that the game is still new and we wanted to take advantage of the moment and start up a female gaming team as fast as we could.

twitter.com/L_Twin: "Lot's of Q's on BFBC2 Vietnam: Yes, info to come at Tokyo Game Show including new teaser movie. Ask @zh1nt0 for details, believe he's going."

EA is having a showcase somewhere in Japan tomorrow, where they will make most of their major announcements a day before the show officially starts.

BTW, can anyone give me some info as to how the game differs from the PS3 to the PC version? I would have gotten the PC version has i built this rig like a year ago, but PS3 was my best choice on the release date. Besides comm, whatever else is there?

I actually purchased both since I didn't have a suitable PC until 2-3 months after release. The auto-aim on the console version is huge difference maker and quite a shock when I first started playing PC. You *must* burst fire in the PC version. The other obvious difference is image quality... it's so much better at 1080 with all the eye candy, but you need some decent hardware. I also like that fact that you can assign the guns and equipment to specific keys which allows for significantly faster weapon switching. I haven't touched my PS3 version since I bought BC2 for PC.

So there was no mention of BFBC2: Vietnam in the opening announcements of the EA showcase, or livestream broadcast, this morning.

These updates via twitter:

twitter.com/zh1nt0: "Info about Vietnam will be out later on. Right now we are showcasing it and it's hugely popular!!"

twitter.com/zh1nt0: "Further updates for Battlefield Bad Company 2:Vietnam will be out later on. Check back on the internetz for further info :)"

twitter.com/_KOiN: "TGS BFBC:V teaser is done and approved. We had a great team working on it. Hope you'll like it."

twitter.com/_KOiN: "Since a few asked - BFBC2:V teaser will be released some time tomorrow(Thursday). And thanks for all the RT's!"

_KOin = Magnus Walterstad, audio artist at DiCE

I want to hear less "tease", more info! @sshats! I got nothing to post!

Auto aim is campaign only though...isn't it? I would understand why since aiming with analogs can be hard at times.

Are the graphics lowered from the PC to the PS3 regardless of the resolution? I can run 1080p on my PS3, but the text looks choppy up close, but the game looks awesome.

As far as assigning weapons, its not as easy as that, but the D Pad and Triangle is actually allow for easy switching as well. Only thing that pisses me off about this is that it takes a bit long to pull out items marked on d pad, specially c4 is a pain in the ass if you're trying to quick detonate.

My 360 has auto aim in multiplayer...so does my buddys ps3 allows for an assload of spray and pray without the praying. It's like this is in mw2 for me as well

I was definitely a douche today playing...but these two clan asswipes pissed me off. I was in there squad we were doing pretty decent on Port Valdez defender. Went to get in the Apache and was pilot. One clan dude starts harassing and begging me to let his buddy pilot. I say no I was here first, I'm a decent pilot lets roll. So I take off start flying, he refuses to shoot. So after about 30 seconds of this I go back to base, and land, say fine you want your buddy to fly fine. Called him a few choice words...and as his buddy runs up I place some C4 on the Apache...

Then accidentally detonated that C4 ;)

Whoops. Didn't get kicked or anything but they were both pissed. We won anyways.

And watched that BC2 Vietnam movie. Looks really cool, but 4 maps? REALLY? Come freaking on. If it had at least 7 or 8 I'd buy it but with 4 maps, unless it's like 10 bucks I wont touch it.
