Have you non-hardcore players increased the size of your minimaps yet? You can also set your zoom level as well as a few other things.
 
Because minimap is a huge part of the game? Also TTK on hardcore is way too COD for me.

Also I like the increased teamwork aspect of the game on classic. Though classic should have FF on by default.

IMO, TTK on normal is ridiculously high. I like to keep it at least little realistic. I preferred playing CoD on HC too, and for the same reasons; spotting and TTK. Im guessing you really hated CoD's HC. I think CoD 4's normal game was probably the best because you could stay invisible with a silencer and UAV jammer, man I loved that game.

The teamwork aspect on classic and HC should be identical, since both have no health regen and squad leader spawn only. I cant think of any other real differences here.

While friendly fire is more realistic, it's the one thing I could do without. Lots of times it seems my own team kills me more than the enemy! 😡

Oh well, Im glad DICE finally gave you something that you can enjoy. :thumbsup:
 
I have done quite a few interface tweaks with the new release. I increased the minimap to 130%, I have changed all the HUD icons for friendlies to go mostly transparent when ADS and I have reduced the visibility of ammo boxes and other things. Basically when I am ADS I want to see the enemy and so I have removed anything that doesn't either mark the enemy or allow me to see him directly. When not ADS I can see everything normally. Its a good patch, I like this customisation.

Wow, i didn't know you could do that much. Off to do the same, i hate almost anything else on the minimap but area layout and enemy/friendly locations.

I guess it's worth highlighting but the new options allow for some really useful changes to the UI like this.

Huh? What servers do you play on? On ever server I have tried, not only is my own TTK much shorter than pre-patch, but the TTD is not just instantaneous, but negative (i.e. I typically die well before seeing the enemy firing).

I've definitely had some deaths post patch where I had no warning what was happening and then I was dead to someone who was still around a corner on my screen.
 
If you're experiencing that, it's typically HPB people from out of the country. It's REALLY annoying and there's nothing Dice can do to fix it.

They could institute ping kicks by default. I try to play on servers that ping kick over about 150ms or so.

Actually, a lot of it has to do with the lack of true dedicated server software, so companies will provide hosted solutions and they can take a cut. Region restriction would be better than nothing, but there's no way they'd alienate portions of their fans like that.

Yeah, you either must be playing with a bunch of high pingers or something is wrong with your connection. Occaisionally Ill get an odd death here or there on US servers that makes me say WTF!?!?, but not as much as before the last update.


You need to have ping around 150ms higher than your opponent to get the biggest advantage, anything over that begins to hinder more than help. Asian and Brazilian servers are just about perfect for me to really drive people bonkers. It's like being nearly invincible, they can even get the drop on me but I still have time to turn and take them out before I take any real damage. A guy ask me the other morning if I was getting all headshots because he couldn't believe how fast I was killing him. LOL
 
Ok, so here is the stupid issue Ive had since the patch.....parachutes.....I have never ever died so much in this game due what seems to be a non functioning parachute before! I hit the chute key, hear it open, and then BAM insta-death upon contact with the ground, building, etc.. My son says Im crazy and laughs hysterically at all my rage over every parchute death when we play together because he doesn't seem to be having the same problem. LOL

I know that in HC its much easier to kill one's silly self but Ive always played HC and never noticed it being this bad before. Anyone else noticing this?

Since I filter by region, I don't have this happen to me, but a lot of US servers do not have any type of region or ping restriction. It really makes gameplay shitty on a lot of servers.

I've noticed I jump, spam the chute button and it doesn't seem to engage before I hit the ground (no sound). It's like there's a sweet spot where you can jump and take damage but aren't falling long enough to allow the chute to engage. This is very frustrating on HC.

Also still getting a ton of kill trades, one of my last games had me at ~12-5 about half way through with 4 of those 5 deaths being a kill trade.

I think alienated people would be less those those negatively affected by HPB.

Yeah it is very aggravating and the the reason I sometimes go looking for long distance servers just to give them a little taste of what we deal with daily. The fact that hardly any US servers limit ping and lots of foreign ones do, or worse yet kick by region, makes my blood boil. 😡
 
I haven't had trouble with my parachute but (and this could definitely be in my head) I do feel like I've had more trouble than usual trying to hurdle certain objects/barriers or climb out of the water onto certain ledges.

Yeah I'm constantly getting stuck on shit now.

I've taken some damage from parachuting now also. I used to have it timed perfectly to where I could jump off a skyscraper and pop the chute just before I hit the ground. Now I'm usually a little late and get injured/dead. I don't guess the faster movement speeds could affect fall speed or de/acceleration?:hmm:
 
I am getting stuck a little more often as well. Perhaps something in the change to the movement has impacted on the hit detection algorithms. I am finding jumping and other such actions regularly don't work, its kind of irritating.

Yah, there are some doorways I now have to jump through where I walked before. Mostly in the DT maps. The optimized them and broke some stuff I think.
 
I cant remember which map it was but a few days ago I kept getting stuck on the very last step of every landing going in and out of a particular building I was trying to lock down.
 
Yep, stairs are broken often times. I get stuck at the top or bottom and have to jump when I should be able to just walk up them. They fixed a lot of stuff though, so its OK if they break a few things, right? It gives them something to work on.
 
Died because I kept vaulting but not actually vaulting and then porting back 2 yards over some construction barriers on lumphini gardens and ended up vaulting into a light post as an enemy finally noticed me while I was trying to get unstuck from the dumb mechanics I was being tortured by.

Also, are people now teleporting further from coming up ladders/out of water/etc than before? I'm dying covering these things when someone ports from the ladder to 3 yards ahead of it and I'm not at all aiming there.
