Just signed up for this and noticed that they're not running any hardcore servers....
I didn't realize that testing software had to meet your specific requirements...

If you want to play hardcore play BF4. If you want to test netcode and other changes, as well as report bugs and make suggestions use the CTE.

These are all on official servers so I have no idea if they can even be set to hardcore. If they can go to the CTE forum and make the suggestion if that is all that you will play.

Edit: From now on I'll keep these tidbits of info to myself since I can't possibly cater to everyone's whims.

Or don't let random comments derail you from sharing. Some of us do want to know about these things.

You're clearly not new to the internet, so try not to let random things push your buttons.

Seriously!?!?!?

It's only logical that we could best help with testing by playing in the manner that we are most accustomed to playing on an every day basis. Nothing that maevinj or I posted is anything to get your panties in a twist about. Good Grief!!! 🙄

I was posting to let other people who play hardcore only, that they shouldn't bother to sign up for it. I didn't see it stated anywhere that they were only testing normal mode. If I had I wouldn't have even signed up for it. Going along with what DeadFred said, I would be a horrible person to be sharing my thoughts on regular mode BF4 as I only play hardcore mode.

Also I would assume that since they are official servers, they can be set to hardcore since that is an officially supported game mode. However I understand them only testing normal mode to reduce the variables.

I've got some economy class dell 23" that seems to be doing ok.
Wouldn't the tearing be more video card related?

Kinda, sorta.

Monitors that have a higher refresh rate will have much less visible tearing.

I have a Benq XL2420z and the motion blur reduction is something else. Compared to my old monitor it was like getting glasses for the first time for motion clarity.

No matter what I do I do not get the GRAPHICS API for Mantle in BF4 OPTIONS/VIDEO Tab. I have BF4 PREMIUM installed with BF4 Update v104788-RELOADED over-writing the installation plus I did a clean install with the latest 14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql AMD driver.

I'm presently running a Reference R9 290X, an i7 2700K CPU with a QNIX 2510 Evo II PLS display at 2560x1400 Res and 60Hz.

To date I have only played BF4 as a Single Shooter in BOT Mode and do NOT have the ORIGINS Client Installed - Would this be a factor why I can't access the GRAPHICS API - Perhaps I require another UpDate which can only be downloaded from ORIGINS?

I can't seem to find any answers OnLine.

Shoot me if I am reading this wrong but usually when I read a patch labeled as reloaded and a bot mode i read it as you downloaded a razor1911 pirated game and most likely your game isn't up to date with the mantle patch most likely.

Correct you are - Plainly I wasn't attempting to Hide the Torrent Factor.

I haven't gamed in years and fully intend to purchase but not before I was sure BF4 and Mantle was up to snuff as claimed. Besides you require a Personal Key after proof of purchase to ORIGINS before you can play in the Open Arena OnLine.

So you think the Torrent UpDate either does not have or has a crippled Mantle API as is my conclusion as well and not an issue with ORIGINS BF4 and Mantle because if it is I'm holding off a little longer before I purchase and if my conclusion is correct I will probably be buying with a very short time as I do like the Game.

It's probably safe to say that the lack of Origin is the reason for Mantle not working. As for Mantle, it has worked great for me, though I am using the last 14.4 Beta since the WHQL version was causing stuttering and eventually the game would crash (feels like a memory leak?).

Yeh! I tried the lastest Beta amd-catalyst-14.4-rc-v1.0-windows-apr17 as well to no avail - still no Mantle API with this Torrent Version of BF4.

Rather then killing Bots I think it's time to buy the Game and get into some competitive playing. I like the Game enough.

I just wanted to make sure the issue wasn't a DICE or ORIGINS problem.

Please tell me you are not using a pirated version and wondering why you have issues.

Buy the game, it's fun!

Naw! It comes with both 64 & 86 Bit EXE's - Actually it works and plays great under DX, just doesn't load the GRAPHICS API for some reason. I don't have it installed on the same partition as the OS. Perhaps that has something to do with changing the location of the default directory then over-writing the EXE's with the Crk'd versions.

Anyway, I've played around with it enough to like the game and become rather effective. I'm looking forward to playing in an online stage and socializing in common interest. I'm retired, separated and all my Children grown up married with kids of their own. Gotta do something to keep CRAFT Disease at Bay.

I suppose you have to pay for Server time to do that.

The last time I gamed was WarBirds and Quake III with WinSE, using a Force FeedBack Stick and a Game Port. Before that it was Helious, Sky Roads and the original Duke Nukem with Win3 and DOS. I was always good in a 1st shooter game.

I'm a part time Systems Builder, Loader and somewhat of a programer. I know Windows thoroughly with some Linux. Not too many times I let something like this get by me but I'm rather anxious to get this project finished.

Considering a i7 3770 or xeon e3 1230 to replace my i5 2500 non k for this game, worthwhile? Looking for a maximum minimum and average fps and feel my cpu may be lacking.Used 290 also passed my mind for mantle support and a possible better overall experience as well.

Maybe spend the money and go Windows 8.1?Rig has a i5 2500 non k, 2gb gtx770 and 8gb of ram running 337.50 drivers on Windows 7 running 1080p high settings.
