Having a high ping is in fact a disadvantage, and only to the high pinger; furthermore, only when the latency is sufficiently high. People these days seem to think 100-150ms is high, which it is certainly not. Your problem is most likely either with BF4's horrible coding and low tickrate, or you were just getting beaten fair and square.

As a test to see how much of an "advantage" having a high ping is, try connecting to a server in another country or throttling your connection and see how amazing you play. I'd wager you'll rethink your hypothesis.

IMO, 120ms is the max ping any server should allow if they want to keep things fairly even for everyone. One good idea Ive seen: servers that allow anyone to join to get the server going, then begin to kick the high pingers as the server fills up.

For those of you hating the motion blur effects make a user.cfg file and put this in bf4 directory. Change the gametime setting to monitor you have though. It removes the suppression blur effects you get when people are shooting you, and easier to see people on maps. I had this awhile ago, but forgot I reinstalled bf4

Still getting crashes here and Battlelog has been having problems lately due to all the DDoS attacks.

My game crashes regularly. To the point where I'm thinking about going back to BF3 for a while. It's pretty ridiculous.

For me being a sniper is not sitting in the same spot the entire match. 8x is the max magnification I will use in a sniper rifle.

Server crash makes me wonder if it was admin who did it.

100 tickets left and admin on losing team. Some guys on my team talking smack, all of a sudden, server down. SMFH. Had unlocked 2 LMGs too.

I find it does help, as it allows you to jump to the front of the queue (behind any premium members already in queue)

Do you have onboard audio? If so, you could try disabling that fancy sound card to see if it is the culprit. I havent had any audio loss or sound loop crashes for months now.

Edit: Well it doesnt say Premium but I have a gold battlepack, and I maxed my ranks before Christmas so I assume that's it. :hmm:

Yes, I do have a separate sound card - Auzentech Xplosion DTS.

The crashes are definitely less frequent since the patches, but still crash once in awhile.

Good idea - I can try disabling it for a bit.
