Whats nice is you can use it with Desktop gadgets (even in Win 8) and customize it to display only what you want.

YES! I love planetside 2. Was just thinking about going back to it.

12 man squads are awesome, and platoons of 48 are even better. The possibilities of teamwork in PS2 are exponentially better than in BF4, and it's really fun when you're working with a good group of guys. Also, MASSIVE maps and insanely huge battles. Lots of fun.

Really enjoyed the game last night. Only meant to test after install, but couldn't stop playing! Everything real smooth. 12mbs download. auto detect settings all "high".
Nag screen to update Radeon driver - bit apprehensive as it seems to run great, and I don't like messing with drivers.
Just played a few maps, but liked everything better than bf3.
I got the DD version with 3 "gold packs". Should I just open and apply them all now?

Open them right away, you may get some nice attachments for weapons that you are using.

Just remember that the xp boosts are only able to be set in game. To do that, open op the menu by pressing "esc" then you should see an option in the bottom right corner of the screen.

This is the key bit that took me having to look around on the internet to figure out. It was not well presented at all. I also had it take about 3 hours on the first day to actually show the boosts I had opened up from my battlepacks in the game. But this was also day 2 or 3 and the servers were endlessly crashing. It's real fun ranking up to rank 2 6 times in a row before calling it quits for the day.

But now the game is pretty much 100% in my experience. R9 290 driver update solved the monitor turn off I was experiencing. No real BF4.exe crashes for me.

I'm getting them as well on my 5850 on Win 8.1. Apparently this problem mainly happens on 5xxx and 6xxx AMD cards with Win 8. It's been happening since the early days of BF3 so I wouldn't hold my breath on it being fixed any time soon. I'm going to upgrade to a R9 290 when cards with non reference coolers come out so hopefully that will fix it.

Unfortunately I don't. I remember getting one of those a month ago, so if you get the EA newsletter spam, I think everyone will get that survey.

I bet they are just going down the list of users that have BF4 purchased in the DB. I know my EA nucleus ID is one of the early ones.

I think I saw something about the game only sending updates 10 times per second. So if you have a high ROF gun you can get killed by several bullets before the server sends the info to your client.
 
I've definately seen the effect of slow rate of fire guns vs fast rate of fire weapons. If your guns shoots slow, you die. The server network lag issues will make sure of it.

I dunno, I dont lose too many gun battles when I use the ACE 52. Also have good success with the M4, which is burst, but that might be because my play style changes when I use it. And my highest KPM for any rifle with over 100 kills is actually the M16 , then the SKS. I mainly use the high ROF weapons, but I dont think you are at a severe disadvantage when using a higher damage/slower firing gun. The last time I played the AK-12 with a suppressor was starting to be my try hard gun. I think being able to control recoil is more important, at least for me.

Those are my most hated rifles in the game! (that Ive at least tried out)

If it werent for the From Russia with Lead assignment I would have never touched that shitty SKS.

I have used the M16 for 1min and 1s, and have a total of 2 kills with it. Threw it on the trash heap as soon as I died after first equipping it. LOL
 
Is this a joke or something? I got the game yesterday, and when looking at the server browser, there's 2 or 3 half full servers, and then the rest are empty. I'm not using any filters or anything...Is there some way to find more?

yeah, use the filters, there's hundreds of full servers
 
Periodically when I'm playing and I try to start one of the XP boosts from the battlepacks I'm unable to get it to enable...even when it says Boosts Are Available. Is there a server side setting that doesn't allow the boosts to be enabled? I've used boosts before and so I'm aware of how to get the clock ticking typically.
