I still see BF4 frame rate drop below 60 pretty often, is that expected?

My PC is intel i7 950 + 16 GB ram + win7-64 + 2x GTX 670's in SLI. OH, AND I have all my video options in game turned to LOW or OFF

I assume its because of it that I get situations where a guy comes running around a corner and by the time I even see him I hear quick shots and I am dead, as if time was fast forwarded.

Apparently playing on pistol only server boost your stats too fast (my KD went from 1.45 two days ago to 1.51). So far my fav pistol is the Compact 45 (pack the punch of the 1911, but more round per magazine).

I dunno, the 93r is like having a pdw. Hard to go back to regular pistols.

What res? Check core parking and if it still sucks install windows 8.1

This happen to me a few times and it was not funny at all.

Only a few times? That happened to me 3 spawns in a row in one game last night (64 player TDM). It happens to me usually at least once per game. That, and spawning, running 20 feet, and then getting shot in the back by an enemy that just spawned in the exact same spot 3 seconds later probably accounts for 75% of my deaths.

Anyone else saving service stars for the double-XP week? I'm getting some weapons close to 100 kills and then switching so I can get an extra 2k per service star starting on the 28th. Also have assault and engineer close to their service stars, but not really sure how many points I need for the kit service stars...

Not sure if we have talked about it or not but here's the barrel/grip combos I think you should probably be using.

Muzzle brake or compensator and stubby/potato grip. Reduces your vertical or horizontal drift by 25%, grip reduces the 30% accuracy penalty to 15%. This is my go-to combo on all weapons now.

Heavy barrel and angled/folding grip. +50% accuracy, +50% vertical climb, -33% first shot climb.

Silencer and angled/folding grip or ergo/vertical. Stealthy, pick you poison between first shot/hip fire reduction.

Flash hider and angled/folding grip or ergo/vertical.

For support I'm using:
M249 w/ RDS, tri-beam, compensator and stubby. This thing is ridiculously accurate - control at range is great as well.

Assault:
L85A2 w/ RDS, laser, suppressor and stubby. Gun just feels balanced and smooth as butter, and still decent hipfire.

I use the same setup for support, however I have a question about your assault setup. It's my understanding that stubby only reduces the accuracy penalty for barrels that give you one. Is there a base accuracy penalty for automatic fire? What is it?

64 player game on a map sized for 24...and you are surprised about spawn issues? :whiste:

When I mouse over all the grips I have on the L85, it all shows a 4pt reduction in accuracy. That's why I ended up using the Stubby because I think the recoil on the L85 is probably the most controllable of any gun.

Call me crazy, but I've found that the 1911 and the Compact 45 are kinda wild on shots at mid-range and pretty bad at long range.

I'd have to rate the P226, the M9, the 93R, and the .44 Magnum among the best pistols, for different reasons. Most any pistol with a large magazine seems to do better for me than ones with a smaller magazine and higher damage. I can snipe way better with the .44 Magnum versus the Rex, but both guns still are kinda handicapped versus every other gun because of their rate of fire.

I've been enjoying the scar h with muzzle break and stubby grip. Tap firing with it and there is no recoil and high damage per hit.

Unfortunately it's getting me banned from my favorite servers.

I love the RPG. If I can just get a bit better at hitting those godsdamned choppers with it, swear it's always right over or right under them but I have had a couple successful shots. It's so satisfying when it works though lol.

ACE 52 CQB with supressor, laser sight, Coyote RDS and vertical grip is my go to weapon. ACE with the same setup for Medic. On Locker I'll play with a shotgun with a modified choke and Coyote.

KDR has been 2:1-3:1 for the past week.
