As far as I know CoD has always been on the server side (not counting the weird hosting like MW2 had) and for the most part it works pretty well, I see far more "anomalies" playing BF games. On server side games the guy with the lowest ping has a slight advantage, but in BF its the opposite.

If someone is really lagging it doesnt matter which side the detection is on, weird stuff is gonna happen.

COD has been client side since COD2.

I could have sworn CoD4 was server side but after more searching it appears you are correct. Oops!

Could someone explain to me why BF's ping advantage swings in the opposite direction, is it simply something in the netcode?

Definitely, interpolation amount and type used for the client/server netcode can really change the feel of the online game.

That's good news. So much better getting your feet wet in Single player as opposed to trying to find an empty server so you don't nose plant your jet into a tree messing with controls, or practicing with TV Guided, etc

Yea, I'm just garbage with jets. BF2's singleplayer mode was great for learning the mechanics of the helicopters.

Know of any good self help books that teach patience? I'm running out of it waiting for this game.

Yea, I know how you feel. What is worse is that the icon for the open beta just popped up today in the origin library :p

Wait I;m confused regarding bf4 Premium's offering. I preordered bf4 premium yesterday but with that am I only getting 'premium benefits'? Am I not getting the full game with it? So I would have to pre-order the full game along side with the premium pack? o_O confused

I placed an order for one from Amazon but then canceled it because the confirmation email said it wouldnt ship till the next day.

Finally! BF2's "singleplayer" mode is back. They noted on the stream that a test range mode will be in to try out vehicles and weapons before going into multiplayer.

Didnt have time to watch it all, but what I saw of the gameplay and the storm beginning to brew up looked really cool. Im starting to get a little bit of the BF4 fever after seeing this map. :)

Id love to be able to tweak some of that. Drives me nuts every time I get shot and die seconds after taking cover.

They have BF4 Premium for order? I thought they only had the Pre-Orders for BF4 base and BF4 Digital Deluxe.

If they do have BF4 Premium for Pre-Order and it is around 50 dollars, then it is just the Season Pass type thing. It will give you a slight discount for all the expansion packs and some other perks. Definitely a good deal if you are a heavy Battlefield player.

However, they do have for BF3 a "Premium Edition" that bundles all the expansion packs with the base game.

That's a seriously fail naming job.

The single player testing area is really amazing. I've been wishing for something like that since BC2.

5 man I thought, wasn't paying that much attention in the video but its been widely published that they plan on 5 man squads for release if they aren't there already
