gimmicky.. but I guess I could aim to put my C4 there
Probably because the actual number of end-user dual monitor setups that play video games is ultimately pretty marginal. I think it's a good idea/feature, but doesn't have much of an audience. The number of tablets owners likely blows the number of multi monitor owners out of the water.
When is the Beta coming? I hear rumors of late September, but that seems a little close to the release date.
Well if it didn't support second monitors, I'm pretty sure someone will find a way to implement it onto the PC.
Plugging devices into second monitor will probably give the same results but with more hassle.
Also having both join as spectator and join as player seems kind of silly. Joining should give you the ability to spectate and play. When in the game, the player is given the option to join the battle/queue or to become a spectator. While spectating, everything is delayed for X seconds. If the player decides to play then once spawned, the player will be switched back into real time. The maximum amount of players able to play will still be 64, or the rumored 70. The maximum amount of spectators will be 34 if 64 players or 28 if 70 players, thus limiting the amount of users to 100 to prevent server issues.
you must be an uber programmer or something
Is that sarcasm?
I don't think I have ever done any programming in my life.
Joining as spectator/player was available back in CS days. Only difference would be spectator delay and a cap at 100...
you just seem to its so esay to integrate large feature changes in a humongous program, I assumed that meant you were a programming savant

Built on Frostbite 3, Battlefield 4 will look and play beautifully on all platforms when it launches later this year.
The Frostbite 3 is a multiplatform graphics engine with improved tessellation and destruction features when compared to the Frostbite 2, which powered Battlefield 3. So although the Xbox 360 is eight-years-old, Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment promised that Battlefield 4 will still be visually impressive.
The spokesperson also provided some clarification regards to the DLC releases of the first-person shooter. The China Rising expansion pack will come with all pre-orders of Battlefield 4 while the others, including Second Strike, are expected to come out at a later date with the Xbox platforms getting timed-exclusivity.
Electronic Arts will be publishing and releasing their video game starting on Oct. 29. You can find some Battlefield 4 screenshots in the slideshow located at the top of this article. You can pre-order the products from Amazon in the following links: Battlefield 4, PS4 and Xbox One
Ask any inner-child and theyll tell you; life just isnt as sweet without stickers. From sports stars to screeching cars, those little adhesive emblems come in every shape and size, except it seems for tanks. Keen to correct this outrageous oversight, DICE, the developer behind Battlefield 4, is introducing a plethora of decal designs to pimp out and pamper up your favorite 5-ton killing machines.
Revealed during the games alpha testing phase, these armor-borne insignias appear to follow squad-specific patterns, i.e. those designed via the games Battlelog service for use by specific clans or platoons. Given the availability of such cut & paste tech, it ought to be possible, if not entirely practical, to deck out individual jeeps, jets and tanks as the user sees fit. Not entirely happy with that weapons paint job? Give it a racing stripe. Sick of going incognito? How about a flaming wheel arch or two?
The applications for this kind of user-generated content are endless, though common sense suggests EA will opt for a decorative engine more paired down than Smackdown! in its potential scope. After all, if players were able to fully customize their existing kit, then the opportunity to charge for developer-made re-skins would seemingly be lost.
Battlefield 4 Nursery
In other Battlefield 4-related news, producers of the new and improved BF4 Battlelog 2.0 have confirmed that the systems dual-screen function will indeed support both laptop and secondary monitor usage. Whilst smart phone and tablet compatibility had already been confirmed alongside the social applications Friday announcement, this latest update should serve to broaden the techs appeal to an even greater extent.
Continuing the theme of allaying fan fears, DICEs twitter account has been quick to comfort gamers concerned over the underwhelming graphics awaiting them on current-gen consoles. Responding to one such tweet, a spokesperson replied Built on Frostbite 3, Battlefield 4 will look and play beautifully on all platforms. Its no secret that the developer has put its best foot forward in deciding to show off the games next-gen cousin, it should be remembered that DICE chose to upgrade the games current-gen engine also, in what may well be the series penultimate or perhaps even final showing on the aging 7th gen.
So are you looking forward to Battlefield 4? Can you hold off for a next-gen release or is a double-dip purchase on the cards? Can user-generated content co-exist with micro-transactions in the same game? Have your say in the comments below.
Battlefield 4 will enter the fray on October 29th (USA) and November 1st (UK) on Xbox 360, PC & PS3 platforms. Next-gen editions are also slated for release at an unconfirmed later date (Xbox One & PS4). Gamers pre-ordering the title will receive the China Rising DLC pack at no additional cost. Later DLC, including the Second Strike pack, will enjoy Xbox timed-exclusivity.
Battlefield graffiti....UGH

In Battlefield 4, players can customize their platoon symbols with an editor. The aforesaid vehicle decals and emblems feature may allow them to import these images from the Battlelog menu to the in-game textures.
In addition to fighter jets and tanks, the first-person shooter also supports the following vehicle types: armored personnel carriers, helicopters and transport vehicles. At this years Electronic Entertainment Expo, Electronic Arts also confirmed that players can ride jet skis and attack boats. The vehicles feature camouflage options in addition to the potential custom vehicle decals and emblems.
The alpha version of Battlefield 4 is currently being tested by a select group of the community. Invitations were sent out last month with no more being planned at the moment. The public beta test is still scheduled to begin later this fall for qualified individuals.
The final iteration of Battlefield 4 will be released first for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 29. It's only been a few days since Electronic Arts and DICE trotted out a host of changes coming to the Battlelog system when the Battlefield 4 release date arrives later this year, but new rumors may already be helping paint a clearer picture of the first Battlefield 4 DLC coming after the game's launch this October.
Just over a month after Electronic Arts unveiled the Second Assault DLC, an upcoming Battlefield 4 DLC pack which will port several of the most popular Battlefield 3 multiplayer maps over to the Frostbite 3 Engine, new rumors suggest Kharg Island could be added to the game's Second Assault DLC. Of course, while Electronic Arts has already confirmed that the Chin Rising DLC will arrive alongside the next Battlefield on the Battlefield 4 release date, we still know next to nothing about the planned Second Assault multiplayer map pack.
Previously, Caspian Border and Metro were teased as two of the four maps that would be getting the Frostbite 3 treatment by a member of the Battlefield 4 dev team; however, it was actually the recent Battlelog teaser which may have let the Kharg Island cat out of the bag. The eagle-eyed folks at BF4Central.com spotted references to both Caspian Border and Kharg Island in the recent Battlelog 2.0 preview from DICE, each of which is mentioned in a server browser that briefly appears on-screen during the Battlefield 4 video.
Outside of confirming names (China Rising, Second Assault) of the first two Battlefield 4 DLC add-ons, neither Electronic Arts nor DICE have come forward with concrete information on the post-launch content currently being developed for Battlefield 4, other than the aforementioned teasers the dev team. Fortunately, with Battlefield 4 slated for a late October debut, the beginning of EA's previously promised Battlefield 4 beta should be just around the corner.
Head over to BF4Central.com to see a screenshot of the server browser in question, or take a few minutes to watch the latest Battlefield 4 preview video from DICE to see the Caspian Border and Kharg Island references for yourself:
