No argument there, all the semis are garbage for me. The M40 and M98 are about the only sniper rifles I use.You do have to have some skill to make use of semiautos, though. I recently started experimenting with the SKS, and boy I can't kill shit![]()

IMO the G3A3 is the best weapon in the game. It really sucks that you have to play so much co-op to earn it, but the way it chews through people makes it worth it.I never touch the recon class,i just know this guy was incredibly good and i was impressed for sure.
I always am either support with a p90 or Dao or assault with the m16a3 or my new favorite the Aug 3.

Never have played co-op or even rush, always have been into conquest and lately some conquest domination .
G3A3 is engineer no?

G3A3 in BF3 is an assault only weapon. You are thinking of the M4 or the M4A1.
If anyone still needs to get the G3A3, I think the coop bug is still in where you just need farm the points in the last coop level. That is how I got it the first day of BF3.
The last level where you are running down the street to the bank will spawn enemies indefinitely until you hit the trigger at the steps. Just sit back and kill all the enemies rushing out. You can go back to the metro station to get more ammo if necessary.
At the convention I was at, I had a morning off and I went to a range that rented out the G3A3. That rifle kicks HARD, I can see why it is a DMR, I would not want to shoot it in full auto.
I hate you. Also
Closest thing to a real gun i have touched is the collection of 12 gauge shotgun shells a friend gave me out of his cache of 1,000+hoarded shells lol, have a nitro turkey shell,a super x and expert hv and used to have a magnum shell till my friend give me the 101 on shotgun shells and ripped it open lol but eventually i will be buying something like a remington shotty to fire them.
Even got a 20 gauge 7 1/2 shot,hear these can be fun.

NOOB TOOBER! :biggrin:Haha, I also got to shoot a couple rounds of M203 practice ammo. That was really funKicks like a 12 gauge shotgun with slugs. Crazy arc because it doesn't have the full projectile load, so you need to aim a lot higher with the sights. I love the orange smoke when it hits the target

Nice, 20 gauge are really nice to go clay target shooting with. Should be easier to handle than going straight to a 12 gauge.

We've heard from a few of you that wanted to know more about soldier customization in Battlefield 4. Here is a quick preview of the soldier customization that will be available in the new game. These are just a sample of the non-weapon options on the customization screen. Keep in mind that these things are subject to change, and that features may be tweaked or added before launch. From what we are seeing now though, there are some exciting changes from what we experienced in Battlefield 3. Read on!
GADGETS: TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE
In Battlefield 3, we already saw the ability to equip two gadgets per class. However, the developers for Battlefield 4 seem to have broken down the barrier that separated these into two groups. Meaning that the entire group of gadgets is available to choose from when selecting from the lists for gadget 1 and gadget 2.
From what I've seen, this seems to affect the classes quite differently. For instance, if you run assault, you no are no longer forced to carry defibs as one of your gadgets. You are free to choose two gadgets from the gadget list that best accentuate your own play style. So yes, you can carry med packs and spam 320 grenades down the hall to your heart's content.
To use another example, the engineer gadgets are no longer limited to having to choose an explosive weapon for gadget 1 and a defensive tool for gadget 2. Now, engineers will benefit from being able to carry both tank mines and repair tools simultaneously. So, to summarize, the developers are allowing players to choose the way they want to approach the Battlefield.
In both of the cases above, you still have to give something up. But the point is, YOU get to choose!
WEAPON STATS
When selecting your weapons, we've noticed that there are now bars on the side that indicate each gun's statistics. Scrolling over the available weapons will also compare these stats with the weapon you currently have equipped. Each weapon's damage, accuracy, mobility, range, handling, rate of fire, magazine size, and available fire modes can be seen, along with your own progression with the weapon.

After choosing your weapon, scrolling over weapon attachments will also show you the effect, if any, each attachment will have on the weapon's efficiency in combat.
SOLDIER CAMO
As of right now, the soldier camo choices are fairly limited in the menu. It's unclear whether these will be the only camo options in the final game, and also whether some of these may be Battlepack unlocks. However, here is the list of the soldier camo patterns that are currently available:
IZLOM
BEREZKA
PARTIZAN
VDV FLECTAR
SPETSNAZ JUNGLE
RASTR
KLMK
YEGER
SPLINTER

So, what do you think about the new customization screen so far? Are there any features you would like to see added? Of course, this is just a preview at this point, so be sure to let the developers know what you think as well. And as always, as soon as we get the latest info, we'll pass it along to you!
DICE teases a brand new map set around a dam.
![]()
DICE recently did an in-depth post on the upcoming Battlefield 4 Commander mode, where they revealed some additional details. And among those details, they posted a special GIF animation showing the Commander mode in action on a brand new Battlefield 4 map.
The map appears to be the dam multiplayer map weve been hearing about for a long time. On the right side of the map, you can clearly see a large structure which appears to be a dam wall.
Previously, weve heard in the Levolution trailers that players will be able to flood entire areas, and maybe thats the case with the new map.
The map has 6 control points in the Conquest mode, and it appears to be a Conquest Assault version, where the US faction has a base and China controls all other flags.
On a cool side note, it appears that Commanders will now have access to a submarine, which could be used instead of the AC-130 gunship, or it could just be a platform to launch the Tomahawk missiles.
Well be sure to keep you up to date as more information is released regarding the new map. Stay tuned!

That bothered me at first, but then I realized that I rarely get kill streaks higher than 6 during Conquest unless I'm camping. There is the occasional time that I'm defending and I might get a streak that high, but chances are good that I'm already showing up on the radar.
IGN's community asked, DICE responded.
by Cam Shea SEPTEMBER 3, 2013
Just before this years Gamescom, I put out the call for Battlefield 4 questions for DICE. Nearly 2,500 comments later, I, erm, had quite a few to choose from. I picked a few specific questions as well as some common themes among the questions and hit Lars Gustavsson, the Creative Director at DICE with them during the show.
Ive tried to attribute questions where possible, but please bear in mind Im largely paraphrasing. Here we go!
[Skiptomahloo and others] How do you guys feel about the rent-a-server model? Theres quite a bit of chatter on IGN about admin abuse and players feeling as though theyve been punished for skill as opposed to any kind of infraction.
Lars Gustavsson: Weve definitely heard the community and we experience it ourselves. What weve done is weve introduced a new system where basically we have pre-defined scales, so if youre within certain boundaries it will be an official server, which means that people who use for example quick match, will be slotted into this. You will be guaranteed a good Battlefield experience. Youll know what youre getting into. If you start tweaking around with the settings a little more, it will go down to being ranked which means that youll still get your persistence and everything, but some settings might be a bit different from what youre used to. And then [finally] you can go crazy and change all of the settings, but then it will go down to unranked, so we give you as an admin the freedom, but also to take responsibility for the end user who wants to have a good experience.
So we definitely listened to them. And also weve been revisiting how we can ensure that your skill or your XP can be better balanced from game mode to level, so its not like some levels are so much more popular than others, just because of a higher XP ratio.
[Ruwagrong, SamMcK1664 and others] Will Battlefield 4 have bot support?
Lars Gustavsson: Its not in for Battlefield 4. We have our single player experience, we have our multiplayer experience and weve been focusing on delivering those. If we had to choose, wed focus on delivering a good experience to the 64 players that we cater for, as well as adding two commanders on top of those 64 so its more possibilities than ever. Weve also learnt that when we try too much we kill ourselves. (Laughs)
Is it something that youd look at experimenting with in the background?
Lars Gustavsson: We did it with 1942 and Battlefield 2, we had, kind of, the bot war, which was appreciated by people, even though most people went to the online experience. Who knows for the future. If the voice keeps on getting stronger then thats something that we need to listen to.
[senior-twinkie, MikeTheAmerican and others] A lot of Battlefield players find vehicles like helicopters and jets daunting. Will you have any kind of tutorial or training in Battlefield 4?
Lars Gustavsson: Weve definitely heard that people are afraid of getting in there [and using vehicles like helicopters] and thats not our intent, so what weve done is, weve added a test range, which allows you to try out all the hardware ahead of time so that if you want to learn to fly a helicopter you can get in there and you can find the settings that work best for you. And then start doing some stunt flights just to feel safe before you go out and get the responsibility of a bunch of other people sitting in your helicopter, so I truly hope that this will help people feel more safe about trying out the whole battlefield.
[Switchphone and others] Its a running gag, but Dinosaur mode?
Lars Gustavsson: We definitely hear them and I like the thought of it too, so who knows. It definitely sounds extremely sexy and sounds like something that would fit the battlefield universe very well.
But its not something youre working on?
Lars Gustavsson: Not right now, were focusing on Battlefield 4.
[Hawki90] Will you be able to play Battlefield 4 on the Vita via the PS4s remote play?
Lars Gustavsson: That is the intent. Thats something were looking into and working on to see if we can guarantee it.[/B][/B]
Do you have it up and running?
Lars Gustavsson: Yep.
And how does it feel?
Lars Gustavsson: Its getting there, so its, yeah. As always when youre working on a game youre still taking one day at a time, but it seems like were getting there.
[Aspelin] Will the PS Vita be integrated with Commander mode much like tablets are?
Lars Gustavsson: No, thats not in the plan today at least.
[ILOVEGAMESANDMOVIES and others] Will Battlefield 4 have splitscreen?
Lars Gustavsson: No, not for Battlefield 4. What were trying to do is really up the visceral experience, the dynamic experience, to give a more complete experience than ever on the battlefield. And with new friend join functionality and a lot of focus on playing together as a squad, and what weve done for squads, what weve done for commanders, we felt thats the social gaming focus that weve had.
DICE seems to be leading the charge with second screen functionality.
Lars Gustavsson: We took a brave step with Battlefield 3 and Battlelog, and its probably like Christopher Columbus or someone who set out to do something new and people called them crazy, but its proven to be a good strategy and now its established. Now were pushing the boundaries: we bring it to your tablet, we integrate it to all clients, and on top of that giving you second screen so you as a squad leader can provide orders to your squad or use it as a map. And on next-gen and PC you can use it as well. And of course, Commander, so its a plethora of possibilities! On top of that you have customisation of your kit, you have joining servers, there are so many things. And maybe not every player will adapt to use everything, but were not telling you how to play: you use what you feel matches your way of playing.
Most interesting part to me is[Skiptomahloo and others] How do you guys feel about the rent-a-server model? There’s quite a bit of chatter on IGN about admin abuse and players feeling as though they’ve been punished for skill as opposed to any kind of infraction.

I play only hardcore because of 3D spotting in normal just being a stupid mechanic and game-breaking imo.
Have you ever seen useless sniper camper go on killstreak? I haven't. It's usually very good assault players.
This "feature" is very very questionable.
That's awesome...you get a kill streak over 6 and you get pointed out to the enemy team (or at least commander)? hehehehe....campers beware!

I play hardcore because I hate shooting someone 45 times before they die. =(
