Got my hands on some BF4 today at a convention :)

I like how they put the SCAR-H to a DMR category. The map they had it in was just a small conquest map on Paracel Storm. Most of the people were really bad or were fillers told to play badly. The team I was on were a bit stacked and won with over 280 tickets.

The new movement animations are a nice touch, open freight containers are able to be closed. Everything looks a lot sharper on PC. Almost like how BF3 was way sharper than BC2. Suppression isn't as bad as BF3. Spotting feels a bit odd, you need to really stop everything and let the animation go through to spot.

I can't wait for launch :)
Nice! Glad you got a chance to feel it out.

Hows the player movement? Same as BF3 I hope, Zargon's earlier post has me worried.

seriously though I saw alot of good comments about it after E3, that new movement felt better more connected and more realistic

of course, that could be from assholes that think blops2 is the best game ever

YMMV

Anyone got any idea just what card and how much vram would be best for this game?Sitting on newegg stuck between 2gb and 4gb gtx760 cards.....cheapest 4gb is a reference model@$270 while the 2gb cards with aftermarket coolers i am interested in sit around $260,replacing a gtx650 and ordering friday morning.

Quite the boggle.

Depends on what resolution you're running. If you're at 1080p, you could probably get away with 2gb. If you wanted more wiggle room, the extra $10 for the 4gb version isn't a bad deal though.

I would wait on a graphics card. According to rumors AMD is releasing new GPU's before BF4 comes out. Even if you're not interested in AMD gpu's they should have an effect of the pricing of Nvidia GPU's.

1200p,the price itself for the 4gb doesn't bother me as much as i would give up some aftermarket models in 2gb flavor to gain that extra 2gb that may or may not be needed while being stuck with a reference blower.:|

So much talk about the next gen consoles just packing so much memory,i have heard to much talk about how 2gb may go to way of the dodo soon.

I might, not to sure yet as honestly i never like to follow rumors till there is confirmation and even a article at least confirming dates and specs and pricing if possible.

If the launch of 7000 series is anything to go by,chances are their 7950 and 7970 replacements will come first out of my price range perhaps with flaky drivers for the first few months and the only card that may become affordable that interests me is the 7970 and that card along with the gtx770 both won't work with my cx500 psu anyways.

Had a 7970 right after launch for not all that long so the flaky driver and expensive first adopters tax is not all that new to me.

flaky drivers? maybe per game

I had a 7950 the first month and besides occasionally needing beta drivers or CAP patches for a few new games, I didnt notice many issues

and they werent that expensive

I paid like 315 for mine, AR, and that was roughly the going rate(within 10-20 bucks) until....may?

Drivers for me as far as amd is concerned have always been a issue up until 12.11 came out,my 7970 would do the black screen of death if the desktop sits idle to long and for me that was a big issue especially when my wife yelled on the phone to get rid of the freaking thing and why did i pay so much for this hunk of crap as she liked to call it when i left and this issue happened as she didn't know how to hard reset my tower with the power button but she learned quickly when i had the 7970 in there lol.

Now the drivers seem fine, matured and i would have no issue picking up any current amd card but we could all assume there will be launch day issues either with performance or overall desktop usage when the 8000 series is launched.

haha sorry, I just got off a shift of a 8 hour shift demoing my game and finally have time at the airport to check in.

The running is exactly like BF3 but with a lot better animations. You really feel like you are running in the world and the vaulting is a lot less floaty. If dice puts in oculus support in the game, it would be amazing.

Unfortunately the line for BF4 and Titanfall were too big today and the staff didn't let me cut in line. :p

glad I didnt have those issues!

Ditto. My TF3 has been rock solid since Black Friday last year. It also worked well during the BF4 Alpha, but I'm sure the graphics will have had a bump since then.

It's kind of stupid and simple, but one of my favorite things about the animations/models in BF3 is that when you look down... you actually see your feet lol, it's a nice enhancement to the first person PoV.

After killing people, I will stand over them, look down and point repeatedly. That's funny. ALSO, I would like it if they gave special bonuses for sniping people out of aircraft. Maybe they can have in game billboards that have your player name show up so everyone can see how awesome you are when you are on a streak. No ego here though.

Is there a button you press to make yourself point or is it just random?

I want to pick up the TF3 7970@$320 right now on newegg, amd claims this card runs on 500w but there isn't a listing for amps needed,i have a cx500 with 38amp and personally would love to get that 7970 and with a i5 2500 non k running stock and with no gpu ocing,i would think 500w might be enough?

If the 7970 won't work,i am already considering the 4gb zotac@$270 already as a secondary choice.

Did you mean to post this in the Video Cards forum?

Anyway, 500W will definitely be enough. The CX500 has two 8+2-pin connectors, and your CPU is very efficient. By the way, the Sapphire model is $280AR right now.

Also, consider banking those game vouchers - you could get BF4 for free.
