My favorite is the parrots on Parcel. They still spawn in on even if their tree has been blown to bits. So you just see these pretty Macaws floating like 5 feet off the ground.
Yeah when you move around invariably someone will warp in out of nowhere or spawn 10 feet behind you and you're toast. I used to hate flood zone but now that I am playing assault and just stand still in one spot I am tolerating it a little better.
That brings me to another point. I would swear there is some degree of aim assist in this game because sometimes I take pot shots at snipers 200 yards away with my red dot scope that more than covers the whole target, and yet I still score hits and kills. It feels like guns are more accurate with red dot sights then actual scopes. There's no way the sight is precise enough to make shots like that but if you are close enough it counts as a hit...

Do not go full auto, especially if you have a compensator or other muzzle attachment. That 30% hit in full auto accuracy has to be screwing something up.
They nerfed the AA and AT weapons so much. I've hit two helicopters with the RPG (yes, with no lock on; I've had my Carl Gustav practice) and each time, they lived. I hit a tank with 3 before it killed me, and it still had around 15 health.
Maybe its just the hunter in me, but Ive shot at just about every one Ive seen so far. I also murdered every critter I came across while playing FarCry, chopping them up with the machete made for a good pastime between fire fights. Take that PETA!!!On that note, has anyone felt the urge to shoot them? Whenever I play that map I feel like shooting them when they appear on the screen.![]()
That doesn't even make it fun IMO. It ruins the feeling of the game for me to not be able to take down a vehicle with only a couple rockets. It should never take 4.
Overall this game has so many issues right now I can't bring myself to play it right now. I will revisit it later on after some patches.
So I ran a quick test, and it makes a significant improvement.

I dont quite understand the numbers on the graph, but just looking at the graph it appears much more stable. And looking at the frame rate, it indeed is 40% or more at times.
I feel like DICE wants BF to be a vehicle rape simulator. I get tanks have armor, but helicopters (even the most armored) aren't going to take 2-3 RPGs, nor can they take 30+ 30mm hits.
They need to either increase the damage of the AT and AA (which is unlikely, due to balance issues with them hitting ground targets) or reduce the armor on vehicles. I would like to know exactly how many stinger missile hits an F-22 could shrug off. I am better the answer is 0. There is no reason a single hit shouldn't take them out, they have flares and can easily get out of range quickly enough. An A-10? That is literally a gun with two jet engines strapped to it. There is no way it's taking a bunch of AA hits.
Also, is it just me, or has the spawn system become incredibly slow for no reason? It doesn't take 3 seconds to load into the game, when you already have the game loaded. There should be no reason for lag between spawning. Even though you're invincible, it doesn't matter, because people can see you and kill you right away regardless.
Seriously? Geeze, I guess that's the ticket then. That said, I wonder if disabling it in windows 8.1 would do anything? I DO notice some little cpu spikes here and there. Nothing like before, but there is some still. Thanks for doing that video. Absolutely shocking that someone didn't notice this before release. The conspiracy theorist in me wants me to believe that they did it on purpose to sell more windows 8 copies, but that's crazy, right?
It should apply to Windows 8 as well. Windows 8 handles core parking better, but turning it off means the cores are never parked. You can try it using the utility I linked, and simply reverse it if it doesnt help.
You linked a utility? Where was that? I'd like to try it tonight.
Actually, it can. The A-10 is notorious for it's ability to take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Stories1/001-100/0016_A-10-battle-damage/story0016.htm
I hate that I have to watch an opposing player's silhouette move around for 5 seconds.

I know form experience that the RPG will demolish any helo with one hit, I havent been able to hit a jet with one yet to find out how they fare.
Stingers and IGLA's are pretty much useless pea shooters atm.

What with the RPG doing the most damage to tank while the javelin or any guide weapons sucks on damage. Oh, anyone try HVM-II (British Starstreak) yet?
