Or maybe you can't see that steam and mmo's are just client server C++ apps and we already had limitless mulitplayer games with quake 2. Who am I going to believe, john carmack or someone who wouldn't pass basic computer science 101?
John carmack "No limit to the # of players in a multiplayer world".
So if we have a limitless massively multiplayer game like quake 2, wouldn't that mean the people who bought ultima online and everquest were duped? Because ANY game can be made in a game engine, we could use quake 2 to clone your favorite "MMO's" and then turn them back into games that allow local multiplayer.
You idiots never figured out why dedicated servers and level editors disappeared. "MMO's" are just PC games with fraudulently coded networking to dupe your asses out of game ownership. That's why we got steam in 2003.
Tell me why an Unreal engine First person shooter (transformers FoC) using the same engine as unreal 2004, needs to have its multiplayer living in some exe outside the game executable?
Or is that a political statement by the game industry that the average PC user is irrational and blind to the fact he's been robbing himself?
