My plan was to finally treat myself to a "nice" GPU and buy a 6800 XT :confused_old:
No intent to mine, because fuck crypto.

I really wanted a 5700xt (purely for gaming), but I didn't want to wait for a non-blower card. AMD's reference cooler seemed really awful based off reviews.

The 2060 S reference card had sufficient cooling and noise levels, so I settled for that. The RT cores are still pretty useless, but the tensor cores have proven to be actually useful.

I got a 100 (50 from cpu + mb, another 50 from video card +cpu) dollar discount for AMD cpu, mb and video card xd

I ordered myself a Tesla coffee mug with Dogecoin. In the 12 days that it took that mug to arrive, the price of Dogecoin dropped 25% from 20 cents to 15 cents.

The lesson I learned from this? Tesla has to upgrade to faster shipping :)

Your mug order probably pushed back cybertruck delivery date by a year. Thanks bob.

Late last year I setup a recurring buy in Robinhood--buy $1 of ETH every day. So far I've earned... -$126.44 (yes I've lost more than I put in!)

If Larry was in China or Kosovo, that's probably what would happen. His old ass GPU's would get sold at auction, and he would likely get a big fine.

One would hope we would not hold up either Kosovo or China as models of how to treat the citizenry.

I don't want the miners not to be able to mine, I just want gamers to have enough hardware at their disposal too.

Mining shouldn't have lasted as long as it did, though. Ultimately it holds back blockchain projects. It devolves into a plutocratic struggle for more hardware and more power, consequences be damned. It's not that miners are fundamentally bad people (per se), especially not if they mine with used cards in small operations . . . but even when you peel away the alleged or actual social costs of ever-escalating mining efforts, it turns out to be a piss-poor system for validating transactions on a blockchain.

All of the bro dude type investments are down more so compared to other investments. Cryptocurrencies, HOOD, COIN, GME, and AMC.

I would say that someone should put all of these hyped pop investments in an ETF with the ticker BRO, but some insurance company already has it.

ARKK is the next best thing. Fitting that their top holding is the number one dude bro stock out there.

I just looked into the 1-year performance. I laughed at the number that HOOD has: -66.66%. Note: that doesn't include today's -8% after hours results (and still dropping like a rock). I am just a child when it comes to some numbers.

I bought some bitcoin right before the dip. Not concerned about it. Only spent money I was willing to lose.

Why are so many people always willing to lose money? The goal is to gain money (which does require risk but also requires selling high).
