I don't think the "Chic" one will appeal to fashionistas, or has sleek curves as LG thinks it does, but it's also not a bad looking phone in comparison to say the Droid, which is selling fine.

Now let's look at the LG Expo:
- AT&T
- 3.2" Screen
- Vanilla WinMo 6.5 unskinned (and probably locked down to hell and back)

These differences as well AT&T's flagship phone is the iPhone, given the options I'm sure you can understand why the HD2, Incredible and EVO - all being non-AT&T phones sold out while the Expo didn't. You may consider the screen size being an aesthetic issue, but in reality it's a technical issue.

Other than that, all three of the other phones are technically superior than the Expo in almost every other way, including the carrier choice. It has nothing to do with HTC versus LG in terms of aesthetic design.

Don't forget that Samsung and LG are the two companies making AMOLED screens. So their phones will get first dibs on AMOLED supply with everyone else picking up the scraps. So if you want an AMOLED screen, your options could become fairly limited.

Through 2010 and 2011 anyway. LG and Samsung both have major fabs that come online in late 2011. Not sure if any smaller players will pop up before then though. I would like to see more Super AMOLED screens out there.

Pretty much. Given the sub-par specs and the fact that AT&T is going to push the iPhone while they still can, the Expo may as well have been stillborn. It has nothing to do with aesthetic, just look at the marketing. Have you seen an AT&T ad for any phone other than an iPhone in the last year? Now what about VZW, Sprint and T-Mo? Hmm... pretty sure I see Android ads almost daily for VZW and T-Mo.
