I dunno much about cars or the industry, but isn't the long warranty (I forget how long it is) a recent thing they've started to offer because of slow sales?

Actually their stock price is $35.24 right now which is quite a bit better than it was a year ago.

The long warranty is GM's statement, that we make good cars, and much like Hyundai did with their longer than avg warranty, use it as a marketing tool.
It allows people who have been shy of a GM due to a Cavalier experience or something to say, hey I can come back and take a chance cause I have warranty to back up the purchase.

Looks decent actually. My '91 Lumina has 209,000 miles on it... hope to buy a new car in a couple months.
