Spoiler alert for one or several of the Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space novels...

One reason you may not find anything....wolves.

In that series, there was an ancient war and the zealots left over were a machine race whose sole purpose was to keep such a war from happening again...by eradicating any races that rose up in tech. Yeah, that sounds weird but I did say they were zealots! They left honeypots, strange objects that could emit signals if disturbed by anyone capable of getting to them and breaking into them. That brought the "wolves" (as the humans called them in the story). It meant they didn't have to travel around looking for pesky awful life, they'd wait until it was capable of causing a nuisance and then they'd come around and wipe it out :)

Far-fetched? Sure, it's fiction! But who knows what motivation alien races might have. For all we know, the galaxy is full of beings part of a glorified Logan's Run society where they have to commit suicide after x million years. Hell, we've been to space and all we seem to be able to do really well is kill each other and develop tech that we use to numb our own brains. Just because we haven't found aliens yet means zip. I still argue we shouldn't find them yet if we have a choice about it, unless we know they can change us into sane beings or something.

And that goes into the dark forest theory. The reason we don't detect other species is that they know better than to be detected...

I can’t believe we are still humoring this nonsense. The size of the universe as others have stated is so massive, the odds of anyone getting here via slower than light travel is laughably small. No wonder we have anti-vaxxers
Reason and logic, facts, do not govern human beings.
We are irrational to our core.

We form religions for our more popular fantasies, cults for lesser, and we do just generally make shit up and people believe it if they like us.
Some of us belong to a... cult... that tries to use reason, logic, and facts. This is not the same as them being central to our core. Reality will always play second fiddle to things that stroke our ego. Few among us will ever truly want reality.

I hope that space aliens never do come to earth. They would be fools if they did, assuming they do exist. Hell... us earthlings can't even get along with our own species let alone get along with space aliens. Do we really need to add space aliens to our enemy list? To build WALLS to keep them out? To treat them space aliens as we treat our own aliens?
To call them racist names because they have green skin, or blue skin, or skin a slight shade of pink with a little pastel highlights tossed in? If we called them names and made them use separate drinking fountains they just might EAT US UP. Chomp! Chomp! Yum! Yum!

Naw... We don't need no space aliens coming here, even if they can cure the common cold or shoot diamonds out of their ass. I'd play down this idea of intelligent life from other worlds ever merging with the unintelligent life here on earth. Besides, I hear that all space aliens are drag queens and transgender. It's pretty common on their planet. And they fly only nuclear powered vehicles, no fossil fuels for them. That certainly won't sit well with Joe Manchin.

Just you wait and see young person.

Lol. Really. How quaint of you. Presumption of breaking currently understood physics. To believe in technologically advanced being who can only be caught on shaky grainy video. plus a personal attack. How sad you must be to have rational discussions with. See I can do personal attacks too. if you send me $10k I have a magical copper bracelet that will let you see them despite their invisibility cloaking technology

Keywords matter.

So, no evidence. 👍

You obviously doen't watch The History Channel's Ancient Aliens.

Best source I know of on stuff like this is Carl Sagan's "The Demon Haunted World." Explains all this in considerable detail.

That is Joe Rogan level “logic”, most of it sourced directly from Alex Jones. Dont snort that bs, its laced with stupid.

I heard George Soros funds it so that alien stuff has to be true.
I also heard that George Soros is an alien.

Religion IS a cult. I agree. But, couldd there be life forms on another planet and in another galaxy.

I believe so...

The all but certain probability of life existing beyond earth, is an entirely separate topic from whether we are frequently visited by them on grainy videos.

Sadly I am sticking with there is no conclusive evidence of Extraterrestrial. The former President is completely incapable of keeping that secret. He knows it would get him tons of attention.
Only possibility is they kept the info from him knowing that he cannot keep his mouth shut.
I'm going with the not telling him anything. I think the intel people figured out pretty early to give him as little info as possible.

That's the danger of most the Discovery channels' shows. Hints of reality mixed with modern day mythology all crafted in a marvelous click bait suck you in sort of way.
Although, with the massive amount of cameras permeating all of this earth by way of cell phones and security cameras, there are things which occur that our modern science has no answers for. Both alien and paranormal. Not everything can be photoshopped.

Speaking on Aliens again, anyone here read Project Hail Mary? The Black Cloud of Fred Hoyle?
That’s more in line with my idea of “Aliens”

Funnily enough, its almost true. This recent (like last 5 years I think?) push of all this alien bullshit is happening because Robert Bigelow has been paying for it. I believe that one of my podcasts even mentioned that the recent alleged whistleblower (the one that was the reason for the dumbass hearing where the dipshit provided literally no evidence whatsoever of his claims) is or was on Bigelow's payroll. Which, Bigelow has been funding this shit for more than the past few years, but its why there's a sudden fervor, some celebrities (Blink-182 singer, forget what others) caught his ear or rather got him to open his checkbook.

Random other aside, he also donated $10million to Ron Desantis in 2022.

This whole topic reminds me of how stupid humans are.
Fairy tales and Dragons, 2023 edition.

As if we ever evolved past cavemen.
Spoilers, we have not.

Early hominids and archaic humans lived in caves for millions of years.
