Hoping Ai somehow lowers the ridiculous 6% fee for selling a house

Nah, that's one thing that will never change lol. The core rule of humanity is the golden rule: he who has the gold, makes the rules! If anything, AI will bring the opposite of an equity revolution...

AI reads text from famously inscrutable ancient scroll for the first time:

Virtual unwrapping begins with computer tomography, an X-ray procedure that is used to scan each coiled-up, warped papyrus. After following along the curved layers in the scan, researchers then virtually flatten the scrolls and explore them using advanced AI that has been trained to find the ink on the page.

Ancient scrolls uncovered from volcanic mud
The 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius, a volcano located near Naples, Italy, covered the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum in volcanic mud. Herculaneum and the scrolls remained buried until the city’s accidental rediscovery by a worker drilling for a well in the early 1700s, according to the Herculaneum Society.

Approximately 1,100 carbonized scrolls, now referred to as the Herculaneum scrolls, were recovered from a building that was believed to be Julius Caesar’s father-in-law’s house

And while we're still in the VERY early stages of video generation, I think the animation & anime world are going to see HUGE level-ups in quality & the ability for small indie groups to output some SUPER high-quality films in the future! Things look so promising:
The site for the AI that made that has even more promising videos.

And yet...they still produce some nonsensical morphings. "a tall young man wearing biker boots and a black hoodie and black combat pants, noir lighting" is probably the worst, especially on the left side of the street. For this to be really useful for animation they need to produce model files, then animate those.

Video is going through some really, really cool stuff right now:
Instant matte paintings are cool, though. They're created once, then just placed in the right location based on the camera angle. It might even be possible to animate them a little. AI could be used to fill in a few frames in looping video, like gifs, so the loop doesn't look like a jump cut.

This clip has some morphing issues, but just imagine what's in store for the future of old paintings, children's books, etc.!

NY has already made AI-generated revenge content illegal:

This deepfake video of Zelensky surrendering is a year old & is pretty bad quality, but that didn't stop it from getting millions of views first:

The deepfake usage statistics are pretty bad. Non-consensual digital manipulation is uncontrolled at this point. Unfortunately, people abuse everything & this is no exception:

I love practical applications of AI...one of the things I use it for is voice recordings, like if I'm setting up a VOIP PBX system. I can have an employee record the dial-by menu on my iPhone, pop it into Adobe Podcast AI's enhancement website, and make it sound like we recorded it in a studio lol:

Or alternatively, just use an AI-generated voice to make a recording!

Apparently you can interact with AI in a sim:

I can see this making video games a million times more immersive.

waiting for someone to make an Ai movie to fix bad endings (and bad prequels) to great shows:
1) ending to Lost tv show
2) Game of thrones final season (season 8)
3) create new Star Wars eps 1-3, 6-9

There are probably others
