by the way i've looked into it a little further and the twinmos you got as you are aware now is a hit and miss kinda thing. the best you are going to get are the utt 50 ns chips.

These are supposed to be utt 4.4ns chips //www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-218-405&depa=1

Everyone should be aware of the fact that these require high voltages to max out and there have been people who have fried these. The pcb's may not be designed to handle it. I believe the mushkin are bp pcb's which can take a little more juice.

Avalon, you never actualy said if you could now change multiplier in your dfi board.

Btw I an now running 2 x 512 double sided sticks at 250mhz using 1T with this board. 😉

Also i could never get cool & quiet working on this board until i flashed to the latest beta bios from DFI's beta site
http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/...?PRODUCT_ID=2840&STATUS_FLAG=B&SITE=US

Give it a flash Avalon & let me know if cool & quiet works for you now because it works perfect for me even overclocked.

Also the shutdowns under load problems I was having was actual a bios bug and now it's fine,my psu wasnt to blame after all. 😉

Heh, forgot about this thread, sorry Budman!

Just as an update, I received my Mushkin a while back, and they are doing very nicely. I'm running my memory at 230mhz 2-2-2-10 1T @3.1v at the moment. I've got a couple mhz more headroom at this voltage, but then I need to go 3.2v. Unfortunately, I became so busy with finals that I never got around to finish overclocking my memory, and running new benches.

My BIOS is already flashed to the latest beta bios that includes memtest via the BIOS (unbelievably helpful!!) and higher memory voltages. I'll check and see if I can change my sempy's multiplier, or enable CnQ.

Cool. let me know,I would like to know for sure if you can enable cool & quiet, you can also try enabling 1T , my chaintech never like 1T at 250mhz but this DFI can run 1T at 250mhz all day long. 🙂

I set CnQ from disabled to auto, and I've been monitoring my system. My CPU speed and voltage have remained constant with no CPU usage so far. I don't think it's working.

*Edit*
I will download that new BIOS and give it a try tonight.

Just a tip, after you flash your bios turn off & uplug the pc, then remove battery & clear cmos for a good 5min yes 5 min not 30 seconds...

I didnt do that and c&Q wasnt working right (multiplier but no volts dropping) until i did that,i guess some bios parts gets left in if you dont clear it properly

That will require sunlight. I'll have to do it sometime tomorrow.
😛

Any luck? Also, with that Beta bios, can you run memtest in the bios, and then quickly back out and make changes??? That would rock... 🙂
