had my ip6+ on today driving to my sisters with google maps giving me directions for like an hour, with the screen on the whole time, and pandora streaming, and the battery went down like 25%. was pretty happy with the battery life in that aspect.

but i still think this phone is too large. unless my feelings change i'm going to return it with teh $35 restocking fee and get the 6. it's just too big. using it with 1 hand like i'm used to with my ip4 isn't happening. and even like when i plug it into my car i dont' have anywhere to put it anymore because it doesn't fit in the spot i used to put it.

so unless something changes in my feelings/opinion in the next week or so, i'm gonna return it and eat the 35$ restocking fee since i will now know that this is just larger than i wanted.

Don't worry, you've made it quite clear you're not interested in a discussion about technical specifications vs their practical implementations.
I can see what he's saying. They both have the same size screen but you have less distance to move your thumb from the home button to the top of the screen on the X.

Personally I prefer a hard key but it's undeniable that there's less stretching going on in his scenario if you've got little thumbs.

I think the middle of the screen being displayed with be at about the same space on the Moto and iPhone, but the top of the screen will be higher on the iPhone.

Not that it matters at all.

Finally got a chance to hold both sizes. I thought going in the choice of slimming down was a mistake. And after holding them both, that opinion remains. Too thin. Thin + rounded edges + matte metal = slippery phone. They are just awkward devices.

As far as the difference between an iPhone bezel and the MotoX...it takes me a lot less effort and "thumb mechanics" to brush my thumb across an onscreen button than it does to depress a physical button. Plus the layout of Android with back buttons being at the bottom just makes navigating through screens a lot easier than the typical iOS screen putting the back in the top left.

i actually have never held mine outside of the case lol. i literally picked it up and put it inside of the case immediately. your post just made me take it out of the case though, and you are right. it's pretty slippery.

WTF are you talking about???? I could not be more clear in all my responses. Jesus Christ. If you seriously need to continue this, PM me. I'm not going to continue responding to this issue on this thread. I also don't really have much more to say regarding this. It's easier to reach the upper left corner and middle top of the X versus the 6. End of story.

The late Joan Rivers thinks the iPhone 6 is awesome.

Yikes, was that a timed post?

Of course. I wonder how much Apple paid Joan Rivers for that timed iPhone 6 endorsement.

It was only up for an hour whatever before they took it down, but of course, many people captured the screengrab.

And not to single out just you, anyone that thinks the bottom bezel of the iPhone is too large compared to Android phones that use on screen buttons should feel free to respond. I just don't see a practical difference and was looking for some opinions on it.

The LG G3 let's you hide the nav buttons in any app you choose to. Unfortunately I can't hide a hardware button.

Reviewing iPhone 6 Plus now. Initial impressions, this is a pretty phone, curved glass is comfortable to hold. The screen is lovely, text feel like it's right under my fingertips. Physical button placement is just like my android devices and isn't a problem. Speaker is decent. Not a fan of the huge bezels but appreciate how well Touch ID works & consider the trade off worthwhile.

There is a lot to like here but is it enough? Other devices bring things this device doesn't have. Beautiful screens? already out there, great sound? HTC One M8 owners know what that is. Camera? Nokia rules.

What happens when true multitasking comes to iPhone? Will phones choke with only 1GB of ram? What about super fine tuned stylus support?

Is "pretty and bigger" enough?

Great sound? Really? Who cares what the sound is like coming out of one tiny speaker. You are not using your phone's speakers to supply music during a party.

Oh and the camera - feel free to brush up on *any* of the reviews that have said the iP6 camera is the best camera in a smartphone, hands down. MP is only one portion of that...image processor is just as impt.

Hold the phone :) I don't dislike Apple and in fact use a Mac. There are people who will use the speaker on a phone rather than headphones, earbuds or wireless solutions and enough of them that HTC catered to them. Other manufacturers make devices with great screens and yes, Nokia makes a great camera, also terrific in low light.

My major point: other OEM's produce big, pretty screens and compelling features, is Apple leading or playing catch up after being pressured by consumer demand for bigger screens? This is a beautiful phone but is it enough after being able to enjoy true multitasking and the refined stylus experience Samsung offers?

I care. No, no one is using it to supply the music for a party. But it's enough of a difference on the One M8 in both clarity and volume to not need external speakers for things like listening to podcasts while cooking, cleaning, working, etc where you might not want to - or can't - have headphones on your head the whole time.

The M8 also has the best or at least one of the best headphone amps, with enough power to drive most headphones. That may not matter to you and is more of an issue for audiophiles, but yes, some people do care.

It even makes a difference connecting to speakers via auxiliary cable; the M7 and M8 were much better in my car and on computer speakers than all the other phones I've owned or tried. I don't have an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, though, so I can't speak to their audio quality.

The M8 is a very nice device in terms of it's build quality as well. Btw, I was actually shocked by the M8's little brother, the Remix, a 4.5 inch phone pumped out some nice sound!

There are phone commercials in football games all the time!
Yeah, that makes no sense. The NFL is by far the most watched American TV programming, especially for young adults, and therefore the most desirable place to advertise on TV.

Really liking the iPhone 6. It is basically what I have been waiting for from Apple. Iphone with a bigger screen.

The con is I think they made it too light/thin. I'll definitely case it just to feel like I'm not going to throw it across the room when I pick it up. Sucks because if they weren't so gung ho about the thin factor they likely could have beefed up the battery a bit more.

*FYI, looks like VoLTE is now working on VZW*

!?

I know Verizon is the devil, but their i6 trade-in commercial airing during today's games is hilarious.

Not the fact that there was an iphone commercial during football, the fact that it was a pretty stupid one. Two guy humming the theme from 2001 a space Odyssey.

After 1 day of usage I am really liking the new design. It feels really good in hand. Gonna suck when I put a case on it :(

IMO I really like the 6. It's like everything I liked about Android in an easy to use iOS shell.

I've had it in a cheap case on and off since Friday, I actually end up preferring it a bit in the case and I usually don't like using cases. I find it easier to hold and grippier, only problem is this case has bits over the buttons which makes them hard to find and press. My fault for getting a cheap case, but just needed something at the time.
