That sounds about right for an X2.

one note, the -advmethods flag won't change the way the client actually processes a work unit. It's actually a holdover from the uniprocessor client and would affect which work units you were allowed to be assigned. (I don't think it affects the SMP client, but I always put it in my options in case future assignments depend upon it.)

I swapped out the video card on the machine that has been giving trouble. I also lowered Vcore to 1.375 v. I applied the -advmethods flag. Now it takes 37 minutes to process 1 percent. Prior to the changes it was taking 98 minutes to process 1 percent - same wu. I would say that the problem has been solved and things are back to the way they were before a week ago when I decided to change the video card and run a gpu client.

I guess I learned a few things. I am happy that things are running good again.

And It has been a great month, I crushed my normal output for the month already and I feel pretty good about that. So, hopefully, when my 2 new Gpu's arrive on friday, I can add a bit more to my PPD production.

Well, TAS sure tried, and we could have made it closer if UPS had delivered my hardware on time (a week late, and I still don;t have it) I figure I lost 35000 that week.

And Fedex caused me to loose a day also (6000 points)

Looks like the final difference is less than 3%. That's pretty a pretty close race.

I enjoyed it and learned a lot about the GPU units which I had stayed away from previously.

The race promted me to try. Now I know soooooo much about UNSTABLE_MACHINES, PSUs, PCIe, .........................

I think the 10 Million points is a very cool milestone and everyone should enjoy their bragging rights about this.

With all the video cards popping up, I'd like to suggest that there are a few CPU cycles that might just go to good use while the F@H still bends protiens on the GPUs if anyone would like to explore the BOINC world with TAS in this new year.

I had a great time too Sid...After all, TA F@H is my home away from home!

For the time being, I will keep my GPUs crunching FAH.

I just moved over 4 cores to Aqua@Home (January TAS project) to see how that goes. If all goes well, I'll probably move the other 8 cores to that project.

I will move my PS3 back to PS3grid (another protein folding project).

I should be able to do 13-17K per day here on the GPUs. Those guys just ahead of me can relax now!

Maybe I'll drop in on the folding forum once in a while about a native linux GPU client.:laugh:

I can't complain too much since the GPU windows client running on WINE is very stable and only uses 3% overall CPU on a quad(~10%. of one core) and doesn't slow down the graphics at all.
