Just to let you guys know... the internal clock maximum for all Athlon XP chips is 3.0GHZ. I wish i could get my chip past 2.1 But right now im sitting at 1.85Vcore and 11.5X200. I doint really want to increase voltage anymore cause im still running on stock cooling.

I could have sworn I've seen extreme cases of people reaching 3.1ghz with these mobiles. Are you positive about the 3.0 thing? If I wasn't sitting here on dialup I'd go look up one of those extreme benches.

Just put my order in for a 35watt 2400+; looking to do better than what I have now, Mobile 2400+ @2.4GHz w/2.00volts; using SP-97 and Panaflo M1B, all on an AN7 with two 512MB sticks of HyperX PC4000...

Will report in with pics of the label and results for:

max speed at minimum voltage setting for AN7
max undervolt at stock speed
max speed at stock voltage and
max o/c, period

That is, once I get it and take the time to test it! :D

Ok, am running my mobile xp 2400+ 35 watter cpu, at 2.4 ghz.

completely stable.

I bumped up the cpu voltage from 1.35 to 1.65

200 mhz fsb x 12.0 multiplier.

am using sp-97 with TT 80 mm 4800 rpm fan. (loud as hell).

my question to all those bros who are using the same type cpu.

what voltage did you try to hit 2.6 gig or 2.7 or 2.8 gig

can i get 2.4 gig at lower voltage, say 1.55 volts.

any thoughts or experiences with this cpu?

i used to get 6040 with my barton xp 2500+ @ 2.2 gig

using 5950u at speed of 540mhz core/1.01ghz ram.

what is going on.

am hella pissed at this puny score. :|

Is your memory running at 200FSB along with the CPU? It might have gotten bumped down somehow in the process.
Good to see the 2400+ 35w mobile is back in stock at Newegg.
I just ordered two, and will have them by Wednesday.
Hope they do as well as my current one.

Hey Im looking at getting a mobile 35w or 45w today from newegg. What I want is just to get a solid 2.2ghz (11x200mhz) just to equal an xp 3200+. Is this reasonable?

The motherboard is looking like a NF7-S since it seems like a solid mobo and I've always loved abit. As far as ram, if I only want a 400mhz bus, will just regular PC3200 ram be ok? Would something like Muskin green running at 2.5-4-4 be ok?

Is an overclock to 2.2ghz pretty much assured? Do I even need a 35watter for this? Im looking at either the 2400+ 45watt barton or the 2200+ 35watt barton. Which would be a better choice for my needs. Nothing too extreme. Like I said, only 11x200 for right now (maybe later something like 12x200 would be nice though) and something that will run fine with close to stock desktop barton voltages(1.65v ish).

BTW, looking at the SLK-947U for the heatsink, and something like a fairly slow 92mm panaflow for cooling.

Muskin green at 2.5-4-4 will suit the job at PC3200 just fine. A 45w 2400+ is all you're going to need to do 2.2ghz.

If 2.2 g is all you want, you may find a good deal buying a slightly used one (people buying several to find the best oc chips). Most sellers will tell you how much the chip would oc to. The downside is that you know you are noting going to find a magic chip taht can oc much higher.

Even used, you cant get much cheaper than 77 shipped to your door for an xp-m 2400+! I've seen used chips in the forsale forum for more than that. Thanks for the advice though!

I strongly suggest you get a 92mm fan or a 120mm fan with a 120to80mm fan adaptor. You will get more airflow and less noise!!
