I guess only certain games grip me and keep me from.. squirrle! I've put almost 40hrs into AC Odyssey since the weekend. Seems I'll grind out another 200 hour or more play through. I started playing on a 4770K and RX 580. Then upgraded to a Ryzen 2600 build, swapped to a 3600 with the same card. Playing on a 5800X3D with 7900XTX on CacyOS is miles better experience. That's the real attraction of going back; playing games maxed out.

Alright. Did the unthinkable. I met Hanako at Embers.

And then I burned Arasaka to the fuckin ground with Johnny Silverhand. Ended up with the "Star" ending. Deeply bittersweet. V, alone, doing one last gig that will elevate them to a Night City legend.

Cyberpunk is yet another deeply flawed modern masterpiece. No one does it like CDPR. Superb story telling, a complete understanding of the source material and a mastery in visual storytelling. Initially I was skeptical of the first person perspective, but damn if CDPR didn't pull every trick of out of the proverbial hat to really pull you into the shoes of V and make you give a shit.

I'll still say that from a 10k foot level Witcher 3 is the better game, but Cyberpunk is still an incredible foundation for a new franchise and I can't wait to see what CDPR has in store next. These guys have rocketed to the top of my dev rankings and I hope they can maintain this kind of quality for a few more games until the inevitable min/max of any publicly traded company does them in.

Burn corpo shit.

CDPR, Larian, and Supergiant are my top three studios. I can't recall a single one of their games that I didn't fall in love with.

Absolum is pretty dope. Like a mix of Hades and Streets of Rage. Still only a few hours in, but lots of fun so far. Also has 2p couch co-op mode (or online).

Believe it or not, I've never played any of the Call of Duty games.

So, decided to pick up Call of Duty WWII Gold Edition (not sure what the gold actually adds to the game) on sale, and played it for the first time. After watching Band of Brothers again, I was in the mood to play a WWII shooter, and this game hit the spot. The campaign was a tad short, but it was fun and pretty well made. I enjoyed the historically accurate weapons, especially the Tommy and Grease guns.

Noticed Ninja Gaiden 4 has gone on sale for 40% off, which is the new 30% off because of the increased $70 entry price. So, if I get bored this weekend, may pick it up.

Call of Duty 1 and 2 were peak when they came out. My son loved world at war. His squad put crazy hours into MP when it came out.
