Ditto

Maybe it depends where the Audis are manufactured. Over here, I live in Audi country(20 km from Ingolstadt) they are NEVER on the lemon list.

You shouldn't be any more suprised that Audis are on the list than VWs, since they're made by the same people. Audi, VW, Lamborghini, Maserati, all crappy quality cars. Leave it up to that division of automobiles to be the only Europeans on the list. Shameful.

Gotta keep in mind the # of drivers of each car is different. Kia or Hyundai aren't on that list because no one drives that crap, and if they were smart enough to complain about something, they wouldn't have bought a Kia or Hyundai in the first place ;)

What does winning awards have to do with having problems with the vehicles? A car can drive nicely and perform admirably but have niggling issues.

What pisses me off is dipsh!ts who love Jap cars so much, they won't even acknowledge the fact that the Acura is right around the Passat and Jetta.

What's wrong? Can't admit it?

"HAR HAR HAR, VW RIGHT THERE, HEEE HEEE" wait..whats that? Did you miss the other cars on the list or are you so fvcking retarded you missed them?

Jesus.

So it's based on the number of complaint calls that an agency receives concerning a car in proportion to that car's sales?

Bah, that list means almost nothing to me, then. I trust the average american less when it comes to cars than I do my friend's pitt bull puppy in relation to being left in a room full of toilet paper and not tearing any of it up.

I'd need to see what the complaints are about, and that they're well-founded before placing any confidence in these statistics.

That list is compiled by the Center for Auto Safety, which should be shut down for fraud. Remember, these are the folks who told us that mid-80s Audis could accelerate out of Park for no reason at all, and then got caught doctoring the tests.

Oddly enough, no.

CAS claims that they get their information from the Office of Defects Investigation at the NHTSA. If that is the case, then the #1 complaint for the Subaru Impreza, by a better than 10-to-1 ratio, is the ABS. Really, it's almost every single complaint, except for the occasional bitch about how a car accident is the manufacturer's fault (I kid you not). Text
Anyway, the complaint is that the ABS will suddenly trip into low deceleration mode if you hit a sudden bump under hard braking, even on dry pavement. The ODI has been investigating this problem for over a year now and has been completely unable to reproduce it. They're currently looking for WRX's to buy in the Ohio area where their office is located. As yet, there has been no recall as they can't find the problem.

It's happened to me once in 14 months and 16,500 miles of ownership. Actually happened just about a month ago. I was braking hard for a red light with a REALLY short yellow when I bumped on a depressed manhole cover. The ABS tripped and the car almost surged forward as it put the braking system into low deceleration mode. I did 2 things. First, I let up on and then reapplied the brakes very quickly. We stopped on time. Second, I pulled the ABS fuse when I got home.

Yeah I bet the impreza was because of ABS (and the fact that people cannot drive properly)

Learn to read first....I find it funny that lots of people were quick to diss my Tiburon, but I don't see that anywhere on the list...I seem to remember them saying how unreliable it was compared to Hondas and Acuras

Each year, thousands of Americans call their government to register complaints about their vehicles. The federal government collects this information but has never released it to the general public. The complaint index is based on a ratio of the number of complaints for each vehicle to the sales of that vehicle
