The CPU application FahCore_a7 isn't what it used to be. My 56T slots still work as expected: Put up a 5600 % processor load. At the beginning of this race, when I started FAHClient for the first time on the 44C/88T boxes, I already had to limit the CPU slot to 64 threads (and get 6400 % CPU load), because an 88T slot would only run at 4000 % CPU load. Now that I am back from a few days WCG, even the 64T slot is degraded to 4000 %. 56T slots and 48T slots still work as intended though (with 5600 and 4800 % load, respectively). Of course this costs PPD.

Edit: Looks like running two 44T slots on each 44C/88T box is the way to go now.

I thought F@H CPU slots were limited to 32T slots. It looks like I'm wrong, is there a config file somewhere that gets manually edited?

My HP "Power Gaming" Wal-Mart BF special box (i5-7400, GTX1060 3GB, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, added 240GB SSD), I thought was going to be a fire-and-forget F@H box.

Woke it up today, after seeing that my last three days in stats were under 300K PPD, which is what this box should do, alone, and it had an appcrash dialog that had to be dismissed, something crashed in FAH_Core21 (or maybe 1E?).exe.

Arg. Now it's folding again, hope it doesn't screw up. Guess I need to babysit all of my boxen every day.

Btw, my RX 470 and RX 570 are going to see sporadic / no production, I'm cleaning my apt for inspection in Jan, and I have to test, update, and move out probably 15 PCs or more, so I've had to unplug the Ryzen boxen with the dGPUs. (Although, I have the R5 1600 at stock, and RX 470 4GB, both cranking on the PrimeGrid race right at the moment, but that will change in a day or so.)

Well, yes. at time you will see that FAH_Core21 app crash, and need to dismiss it. And yes, I check by boxes at least a couple times a day. Yesterday, I had a really wierd one, a port on my switch went bad. I just switched to another port, and it back up. Never had that before.

1030s plural? Can you sell them and get one 1050ti or 1060?

I was just kidding :), but I do have 1060 6gb versions. They perform I would say on the same level as a 980 at less power and heat. When I used to run 980s they would push ~78-79*c, 1060s are 60-65*c depending on the projects. Though hybrids are the way to go IMO I see them running 40-45*c on most projects in an enclosed case.

Ok. It's hard to be sure. @VirtualLarry would run lots of low end cards, for instance.

I started out that way and then figured out that I needed to step up to mid-range for efficiency, lower heat and production bang for my buck. Running 4 low end GPUs compared to 2 mid for same production and less power consumption and heat changed my mind to step it up a bit.

@petrusbroder
@biodoc
Well Here We Go.

The only change I made was to change CPU from -1 to 4 threads to play nice with BOINC. All my primegrids are done, and I did pick up a GPU WU!:cool:

The FAH control is saying 3 hours for 30K on the GPU.

Have a good night.

Thanks Orange Kid, StefanR5R and all.
I thought I could offset 1 pony maybe 2 but a corral full? Just glad HK-Steve came in.:beer::D

Thanks for the Warm Welcome..

Am running full power here, about 6million PPD.

Question, are you guy's using CPU's also??
As I can add 122 cores also if you think it is needed??

Cheers
Steve

Well, I am running about as full power as I can, 13 million ppd. I only run my 2 threadrippers on F@H at 200k ppd each, since my E5-2683 Xeons only do about 120k each, and are not as efficient as my TR's. I have about 300 cores total, but they really suck a lot of power for the points they get in F@H, so I run them in WCG at times.

Awesome PPD..Sweet.

I have a 12core, 16 core, 24core, 32core and a 40core servers. Any configuration change or just let them loose??

Much Appreciated
