Wall mount FTW.

I think many executives will scoop this up in their PC orders though.

OMFG it is beutiful.

No, it's a panel with some pointless glass around it. Somehow that's supposed to justify doubling the price?

He said it was beautiful. And I do agree, it is extremely good looking.
He did not say it was worth it's price. There is a difference.

After he thinks about it a bit, and reads the posts in this thread, I guarantee he will be second guessing his original impulse to trade his current monitor for it. If he does, then there is no hope for mankind. :D

Thanks. And note that I said "if it gets good performance reviews..." I still think it is a pretty awesome aesthetic design for a monitor. Although I think the sony XBR LCD TVs are pretty too (but note, I didn't buy one of them).

Finally, FWIW, I have plenty of disposable income. I didn't comment on the price because frankly, I don't care. I have no problem paying extra for something that looks good, so long as it does what I need it to do as well. If you have problems understanding this point, it is analogous to buying higher end name brand clothes. Yeah, you could get stuff to keep you covered and warm at a second hand store, but few people do that unless they have to. Another example would be exotic cars. No one I know would pay 100k+ for a car, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the aesthetic design of an Aston Martin or a Bugatti. What's more, paying a little more for something can sometimes get you word's better service (not that Dell is a representative example, there is a reason i call them "Satan's electronic store"

That said, I stand by my initial post. The monitor is pretty. Whether it functions well remains to be seen.

It does not remain to be seen. It's obviously a TN from the viewing angle and response time, which means that it won't come anywhere near your 20WMGX2 in actual functionality.

I like the look too, but they should have at least put a panel worthy of a "brand name" monitor into it. :p

Different strokes for different folks, I think it looks stupid.

For that price they don't even give you 1920x1200 :p (Yes there is a 22" panel at that res, it's an IBM monitor).

They should've stack a 24" IPS panel in this thing with some klipsch speakers for that price.. with an ingenious way to adjust the stand and detach it if you wanted, even if it costed 1500$ or 2000$ I think we would love it, now wouldn't we!..
