That's not a monitor, THIS is a monitor

Looks like an everyday 22" monitor with a piece of glass framing it. Atleast the specs look good... but not for $1200.

Hah, it's not bad in terms of design, however it's not worth anywhere near 1200$ (I wouldn't give more than 500$ for it)... Just wait for the Dell 3008WFP, it's design is even better imo and will be about the same price for a 30"...

i dont see it out of reach for some people at least here on AT, especially with the crazy deals and coupons that can be acquired.

Even with an Apple logo, it wouldn't sell for that price. Remember the Apple Mac G4 Cube?

As it is, it's a sure bet to flop. $1200 for a 22-inch TN panel that takes the same space as a S-PVA 27-inch monitor. What's the point?

Ah Yes, you get free speakers and a spacious post-it holding surface...

Are you sure it's a TN? It was boasting better color reproduction in the specs section.

If it gets good performance reviews, I might have to trade in my 20WGMX2.

It's a pity they just put a crappy TN in that nice casing. Your 20WMGX2 would blow it away.

The viewing angle more or less confirms it's a TN.

This is how people get suckered into buying Apple crap. Give it a flashy exterior, market it beyond belief, and you can actually convince someone that it's worth the price. I bought a Samsung 275t for less money than that, and I would never consider that Dell monitor for that price.

Ahh, didn't even see the viewing angle. Good call.

Wow, that's completely retarded to make an expensive monitor like that and still use the cheapest of LCD tech.

looking pretty is a GOOD thing.

If I was a millionere, maybe. The only problem I see is that it does NOT combine the absolute highest quality speaker in the world with the absolute highest quality display.
So anyone who can afford to pay an extra 700$ for it looking pretty (and it does look sexy!) would be able to buy something that performs better.

Than again, if you are trying to make a statement... I know a lot of would be players and marketing directors who would LOVE to have one of those in an easy to see (for other people) location

Overpriced. It seems like a regular Dell monitor with glass slapped on top of it on the sides with more-than-likely and usual crappy speakers that come included with some LCD monitors.

form over function... booo! no height adjustment?

Same monitor style as the Vaio all-in-one (but with the Sony you essentially get a laptop included on the back of the panel + TV-tuner).

It is pretty, but I'll stick with my Sammy 226BW that cost less than 300 and is at least as good as that Dell, picture-wise.

Riiiiiiiight.

Let's take a 22" screen, smash some appallingly large glass plates on either side and put speakers in them.

And then let's charge waaaayy too much for the whole package.

Seriously, it's freakin' lame. The monitor's ugly as hell to boot.

The new Dell Crystal 22" -- When you really need a 22" monitor with a 30" footprint!

No, it's a panel with some pointless glass around it. Somehow that's supposed to justify doubling the price?

He said it was beautiful. And I do agree, it is extremely good looking.
He did not say it was worth it's price. There is a difference.

After he thinks about it a bit, and reads the posts in this thread, I guarantee he will be second guessing his original impulse to trade his current monitor for it. If he does, then there is no hope for mankind. :D
