That's it. My kids are defective.

depends on age
they don't switch from getting up early to sleeping in until about the 13-14 year range

basically until they are teenagers, they won't sleep until noon

My children seem to think that waking up at 5:00am and instantly peeling themselves out of bed and going to play is the norm on a vacation from school. WTF? When I was a kid, I remember vacations being the time to sleep in and do as remotely little as possible.

Oh, and I used to walk up hill in the snow... both ways too.

I would go to them when they just out of bed at 5 AM and remind them that they don't do this when school is in session and in the future I don't want no shit about them not being able to get up early.

Hell my kid is 6 months old and sleeps longer than I do.

Goes to bed at 8PM and I have to wake him up at 7AM just to get him ready for day care and he wants nothing to do with it.

I think he'd sleep to 9AM if I let him.

Proof

That was taken just this morning at 7:15AM and he just did not want to wake up.

Give em a little booze every night. The hangover should keep em in bed for some time.

When I was a kid I loved the fact that I was up unsupervised. My kids could never get it through their heads to be quiet when they woke up.

God damn! It must have been too early for me to think properly, because this is exactly what I would do too! (Had I been coherent)

how can someone manage to get up that early? I tried doing 6:30AM a few days back last semester and it's tough getting out of bed. I have to put my alarm where I can't reach it without getting off bed. Sometimes I get off the bed, grab the alarm, climb back into bed, and sleep again.

Haha you sound exactly like me. I did that more times than I can count last semester.

ages of the kids?
For young kids I'd say this in the norm (mine do it) for teenagers? No way. Then again as teenagers, you dont need to be getting up with them either.
