That Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro sure seems like a good card.

http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/94969-sapphire-radeon-rx-480-nitro-4gb-8gb-oc/

It has 2 hdmi 2.0 connectors.

All vrm power phases are equipped and has a 8 pin pci-e power connector.
Seems like a solid buy.

Only one thing that gives me a sad.
It costs 349 euro here in nl. :'(
And at the moment sold out or not available.
It seems i will be doing some money saving the upcoming two months. :\

We have already discussed this a lot in the other two RX 480 threads.

I have had one on order for over a week, but nobody has gotten any in stock yet.

Well, i did do a search "Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro" and the result are meager. Had more luck just googling for it on the web. At least now there is a dedicated sapphire thread.

Seems like a solid card and i hope i will be pleasantly surprised when undervolting.

So the general VC&G forum is full of what, brand agnostic discussion only? No, it's not. Report the thread if it bothers you so much.

General is meant for topics that contain both brands. A thread like this should be in the AMD section, as it pertains to a single card, and only that card.

Useless thread i hope it gets closed asap...

in the review the op linked the nitro gets stomped by the old gtx970 let alone a gtx1060...so this gpu failed miserably, definitely wont buy it unless its $100 cheaper then a gtx1060

Thread crapping will not be tolerated here.

Huh? There's like one completely irrelevant case(DOOM - OpenGL) where the 970 is faster.

Could've done without the DVI port to give the single slot possibility, but I'll still be getting one to tinker with.

No, 480 isn't that bad in terms of performance. Sure the 1060 beats it in older games, but in those dx11 launched this year and in dx12 the 480 matches or pulls ahead.

And also no, the NITRO is not a good card. Hot as hell because Sapphire has fucked up pretty seriously with the ridiculous cooler they have put. And as louder as you couldn't imagine because despite their propaganda, their fans are horrible.

MSI, XFX and Asus, while waiting for Gigabyte tests, are solid examples why the NITRO is not the 480 to get.

I see 3 topics that are specifically Nvidia cards, how does this thread topic differ from those?

I'll wait until a few more sites do reviews before I pass judgment.

This is the second review posted by op, and the gtx970 beats the rx480 nitro on every game...

How is the cooler screwed up? Could you elaborate?

There are only three games in that review, all three of which tend to favor NVIDIA cards in general. I don't think the Nitro has exceeded expectations, or even met many expectations, but to claim its value is $100 less than GTX 1060 based in part on this tiny sample of gaming performance is not a fair judgement in my opinion.

Well, I count more threads than that about the 480 alone, and no nVidia threads about a single AIB model.

Is it a contest or something? No, members can post about what ever video cards they like, we don't criticize here.

I was specifically responding to this post but didn't quote it.

This seems pretty bias towards OP's post since they're are many posts about specific graphics cards. If you're going to call out one "offender" you should call out all "offenders".

I'll wait for more reviews before I pass judgement 😉

Meh merely commenting that a post specifically about one AMD card from one AIB should probably be relegated to the appropriate forum. The discussion about 470/460 is more encompassing and Titan X thread, since availability is limited to Nvidia, is more relevant for general VC&G.

Just saiyan.

As for the card, I'm sure the Nitro would be a great choice for an AIB 480. However, it's still hard to recommend an RX 480 over an AIB 1060. Too much power, limited performance, and too little price delta between the two.

The ASUS card is not that great, it has the same cooler as the 1080 where only half of the heat pipes actually touch the chip.

The MSI on has great fans, but has the highest power consumption out of any of the cards.

The PowerColor is the quietest, but also the most expensive.

None of them are all around the best, each has some good and bad things about them (like most first round AIB cards).

I dont see any other threads about one specific manufacturer's card, especially not when there are multiple threads already about that model card in general. What do you want, a separate thread about every single AIB card?

Drop it and move on to a different thread if you don't like it. In the meantime I am moving this over to the AMD subforum and the bickering and whining will stop or I will just start giving infractions and access removals.
