"That one"

I knew McCain has a reputation for being snarky but that was just disrespectful.

(CNN) ? Barack Obama's campaign immediately highlighted a singular moment in Tuesday's presidential debate when John McCain sought to criticize Barack Obama for supporting the 2007 Bush-Cheney energy bill:

"It was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate, loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney," McCain said. "You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one. You know who voted against it? Me."

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton immediately emailed reporters noting McCain's seemingly peculiar reference to the Illinois senator.

"Did John McCain just refer to Obama as 'that one?' Burton asked.

Bad move by the Obama campaign to bring up that shit. Let it go. Repeat. LET IT GO!!!!! The talking heads are already talking about it, you don't need to be fanning the flames.

I didn't watch the debate, but I think using the term "that one" for a politician is just about right.

Shows the same lack of respect that Gore had towards Bush and Bush Sr. had towards Clinton.

McCain really looks bloated kind of like Jerry Lewis before he croaked. Palin has to love her chances here.

I've heard that term used all my life, and I've never heard it used as a derogatory comment. Usually it's about a family member.

the most disrespectful thing he did all debate, which there are lots of things to choose from, was whenever obama said something like, "i know john mccain thinks i'm green behind the ears and inexperienced and naive and i don't get it and that he knows everything" or something like that and mccain interrupted him and said "pretty much!"

what a fucking douche.

The only time I've heard it is on television when the victim is pointing out the criminal in a line-up.

Eh whatever. It just demonstrates that someone told McCain to get his dander up. It was like watching my pissed off grandpa storm around the house.

i didnt think it was that bad, till everyone talked about it. is that considered offensive?

Don't you remember the massive coronaries of outrage R's were having here because Obama addressed McCain as "John", even though as Senators they are equal and Obama meant zero disrespect with it?

this is a significant issue that should completely determine who we vote for.

Totally. Just like all the McCain personal attacks towards Obama which is a critical issue everyone should vote based upon.

Nobody remembers that because it wasn't there... but nice of you to remember well enought to recycle that material and turn it into a straw man argument.
