Thanks EVERYONE for posting all the great info on cases and powersupplies. I am about buy all the parts for my rig and wanted to say thanks. I'm glad I didn't purchase any of the "great deals" I have seen offering generic cases w/ 300W PS. That's probably why my fathers Dell fried. I couldn't swap out the powersupply w/ my old asus system. damn proprietary board w/ different power cables.
Now I have to narrow down my list of case favorites and find the best case deal out there.
Plus find a deal & compare w/ newegg for mobo (Abit), cpu (XP2500) and memory (Corsair).

[edit] Wow I just stumbled on this barebone system R6000 for $769. Great price! I'll try to see if I can configure it cheaper via newegg or other.
This is a GREAT site! I'm glad I found anandtech and toms hardware.
