Thanks EVERYONE for posting all the great info on cases and powersupplies. I am about buy all the parts for my rig and wanted to say thanks. I'm glad I didn't purchase any of the "great deals" I have seen offering generic cases w/ 300W PS. That's probably why my fathers Dell fried. I couldn't swap out the powersupply w/ my old asus system. damn proprietary board w/ different power cables.

Now I have to narrow down my list of case favorites and find the best case deal out there.
Plus find a deal & compare w/ newegg for mobo (Abit), cpu (XP2500) and memory (Corsair). :) :)
[edit] Wow I just stumbled on this barebone system R6000 for $769. Great price! I'll try to see if I can configure it cheaper via newegg or other.

This is a GREAT site! I'm glad I found anandtech and toms hardware.

Well StorminNorm,

Welcome to these forums. They have helped me quite a bit, and I am glad to see they are helping you as well.

As for cases, I recently bought a Lian Li PC 7 from Case-Mod.

It is a good deal. Anyplace else I saw it for about twice as much. I happen to like the case. Others may disagree with me, but that is all par for the course.

The barebones system you linked to looks good, although I would be curious about the PSU. There was no mention of name.

That is about all I wil add for now, good luck. :)

((P.S. I am ignoring the last two words of your post. :p))

Nice rig DosFan! The Lian Li's are nice!

I love this Chenbro, but as a test server is a bit overkill. Maybe when I build that entertainment system or for my son in a few years.

The Antec Sonata is NICE also but pricey and no SATA cables.

I also like the Chieftec w/ Austin 450W PSU (Foxconn) for $74. Their clear side server case is NICE for $99, but I don't know anything about ISO powersupplies. I am still looking since I'm not sold on cases with drive doors. They seem to be a pain in the butt.

I'm pushing the Enermax to the top of the list! w/ 350W for $79 - great deal!

I am also impressed with this Chieftec for $100 w/ 450W ISO PSU. I couldn't find any info on ISO. Anyone know if this is any good?? More power than the Antec Sonata and same price.

The Thermaltake Xaser III would make my wishlist! Especially if I get heavy into Overclocking (not yet) -- Pricey at $130

Different Stormin' Norm.
You are the second person to ask me that. I guess I have to play Goo sometime. I went to the website, but did not see an online game. I guess you buy it and then battle each other online or download levels/battles?

actually it's a team that plays Team Fortress Classic, a mod for Half-Life. The webmaster's handle for our group (Clan GOO) is StorminNorman :) Who was the other person to ask you about it, if you don't mind me asking?
