This volunteer effort has been put on a pedestal, and anyone who critisizes it is pratically browbeat off the forums. And I also think a lot of traders think it is safer than it is because of the perception of trollhunter effectiveness, only to be disappointed when it happens and nothing gets done. I was one of those traders who was told by the trading community that I wouldn't get my stuff back :) It's nice that people are willing to do this, but I don't think there is anything wrong with taking an honest look at it. That is NOT dissing the volunteers or the effort. But it may give traders a realistic expectation of what goes on so they can make better choices about whether to trade.

BTW, I would still like to hear any rough estimates of how well trollhunting works. IE for how many legitimate cases have been looked at, how many led to some sort of positive resolution. Thanks!

While there may be folk at the FS/FT forum who we were not able to assist, there are many that we did. And not for small sums either. It would amaze prople to see how effective we "Troll Repellents" have been.

It can be discouraging when a volunteer effort is held under the microscope and dissed.

Blade's opinion is my opinion.

This thread was kind of amusing for me since I was currently in the process of dealing with a non-shipping seller on eBay. (13 auctions of Magic cards not received, no e-mail replies) I was mulling my options but now that I've checked the TrollHunters site I've got a clearer idea of what to do. It was only $28, but I'm going to take this crap to court if he doesn't cooperate.
