I don't see how this matters one bit.

Before the Target ban: you can carry concealed without anyone knowing better.

After the Target ban: you can carry concealed without anyone knowing better.

It matters cause these idiots carrying AR15's through Target is going to alarm many people who would normally support firearm ownership into supporting more gun control and carrying concealed carriers rights along with it. I love guns and own quite a few and I am concerned about this situation, it will hurt us in the long run.

You can do so if you like however, if they place a 30.06 sign at the door I will not. I have no desire to have my CHL revoked for getting caught carrying concealed in a business that has legally informed all CHL holders they can't carry on their premises. All it takes is someone running into you with a cart knocking you down or having to jump out of the way to make your weapon no longer concealed.

Exactly.

What is the situation? 🙄

Your perception is skewed because of the 24/7 news cycle and social media.

it will hurt us in the long run.
Current trends contradict this statement. As of today the majority of states allow for open carry either unrestricted or with a permit. This trend is not receding either. Scary times ahead, I know. 🙁

Just because Open Carry Texas and such haven't reversed the trend doesn't mean they aren't damaging it. We need non gun-owners to support gun rights, scaring them off in the name of some masturbatory demonstration is not going to help.

Next up:Chipotle robbed by gang of armed thugs, police could not respond in time.

Clearly as a customer I'd rather be in the middle of a shootout between armed robbers and armed wannabe Rambos than have Chipotle just hand the money over to the robbers. I really care about Chipotle's money that much.🙄

Ummm.....Target's recent comments had nothing to do with any recent incidents of open carry. Target's recent comments stem from a on-line petition created by a anti-2nd amendment group ( Mom's Demand Action) that is connected to Michael Bloomberg's campaign to revoke the 2nd amendment. This petition called upon Target to take a stance on the issue and thus was designed to poison the well of conversation or lack thereof (which it seems it has succeed because people have rush to judgement on their own) on the issue. Hence Target's approach in their statement which attempts to walk the tight rope on the issue by trying not to offend either side.

Ummmm Yes it does have to do with Open Carry Texas carrying weapons in a Dallas Target store.

In March, Open Carry Texas posted images to Facebook of its armed members inside a Dallas-Fort Worth area store, noting that "Target is very 2A friendly."

"We like baby toys!" one open carry supporter chimed in on Facebook.
"Hell, yeah," said another.
"Hey Mom's Demand Action! Suck on this!" said another.

I may not shop at that store if there were armed people walking around like that. My wife certainly wouldn't.
I don't know these people, I don't know what's in their head, but if they feel a need to carry a gun like that to a Target store, I suspect they are immature juveniles compensating, or may have a few screws loose up there. In any case, I have no interest in finding out. If that was my Target store, I would just buy everything from Amazon.

I haven't been to my local Target store but it won't surprise me if they placed a 30.06 sign by the entrance like the local Chipolte's and Starbucks have.

Perhaps these individuals who are flaunting their open carry rights are really not gun rights advocates, but operatives hired by anti-gun leftist organizations. Very clever! But then again, they may just be really stupid.:hmm:

Those organizations may of have been taken over by foreign communist elements.
They may have even infiltrated the government.
These lowlifes are out to destroy America
