Oh, thank you General Motors.

You sold me my car, a great car at a great price.

Your financing arm gave me 72 months at 0% (always take 0% for as long as available!).

Then tonight, in year three of my ownership I called your insurance arm of GMAC and you saved me $300 a year on my premium.

Good companies, good service, good people.

I feel like I just made $300 in 35 minutes and had a pleasant conversation (I chit chat during the call if the other side is friendly, helps make their day go by faster and saves them from talking to jerks. I even called their supervisor and left a good review after. :) )

If you have a recent GM, activate Onstar and give a call. Lots of discounts!

GM Loyalty for having a GM vehicle, Onstar discount, anti-theft discount, discount for having my loan through GMAC, and after 1 year (if I stay that long, I check every 6-12 months for better rates) if you have less than 15,000 miles reported by Onstar you get a discount.

I'm sorry. They've always taken good care of me.

If you dealt with a dealership issue those vary by dealership as we all know. I've been fortunate to have nice dealerships.

At least support an American car company that has a chance of making a profit this decade.

As far as I know GM is actually doing much better now. My dad works for them at a dealership. The other GM dealership in town was closed. It was actually quite scary for a bit since that other one was much bigger, though the service was better where my dad works, they just need to do lot of building updates which they will be doing I think...

With today's economy it only makes sense to support GM, Ford, Chrysler and other local companies. I don't get why people insist on buying from across the world.

yes yes thank you GM for forcing me to pay over and over in repairs just after the warranty expired.

Thanks GM for making quality cars! (NOT!)

One of the things I've always liked about GM is how so many of their cars share parts that the parts are fairly inexpensive when repairs are needed.

Stinks to have a bad experience with anyone though. I'm glad they have a nice power train warranty though. Next only to Hyundai's (which is 5 years longer at 10 but still only 100,000 miles which seems pretty low for 10 years so I consider more of a show point).

Only year 3 of ownership...a GM vehicle is usually good for just about that before the transmission falls off.

Good thing that is covered for another 60,000 miles. :)

Like RS said below. Every carmaker has their own issues. They tend to vary by model / platform / etc..

This wasn't a call to fight over favorite automakers, just had a really good experience in a line of many other and wanted to say "Way to go!" for making my experiences so nice.

what'd you get?

I have an 07' Saturn Ion 2 Quad Coupe.

Great gas mileage, looks nice to me (gotten compliments on it's appearance as well though). It has been reliable and very comfortable for me as a tall person. Would not recommend it to anyone who needs to ferry backseat passengers a lot though. :p

This goes with almost any product made today though, not just GM. They all have their own set of issues.

Almost 90k on my 03 Element, not a single damn issue to speak of. Not one.

That makes me laugh when people state this. So people who buy GM go into it knowing they're going to put some money into repairs but oh well, the parts are cheap?

Oh Lord, you drive one of the top 5 worst looking cars on the planet. The least they could do is throw you a bone.

Your opinion. I love my car. I can go basically anywhere and have plenty of cargo space. Is that your best rebuttal to the fact that my Honda will outlast your GM? :p

No thats probably the ugliest.

I have a 2000 Chev and no problems yet. I've owned Chev/GMs for the last 30yrs with very few problems.
