For those who are about honda:

I still have my acura integra from milage 15k, not perfect, but it's a '91 with 185k miles.

Here's a total list of major problems I've had:

Have had to replace distributor and clutch once.

The distributor, because they're stupid and put an internal coil pack next to all the heat. Fair enough, 100ish dollars ain't shit.

Do I still have my little integra? Hell yes. Does it have MINOR problems? Hell yes. Am I happy, and forever will I respect Honda? Hell yes.

You do realize Ford was in worse shape than GM back in 2006, so bad in fact they had to mortgage everything including office furniture and any trademarks just to stay alive. But i'll keep my filthy facts out of this GM hate fest.

LOVE my Silverado.

You realize you just proved my point right? Ford survived on their own and has been profitable in the recent past. GM took a lot of tax money and is all but completely owned by its union now. They still lose money on cars they sell. I think that defines failure.

No, Ford just failed at the right time. Had they failed at the same time as the whole Economic crisis they wouldn't have gotten a penny in loans and would've had no choice but to take money from the government.

Having to replace a clutch is about as much of a problem as having to replace brakes or tires. They wear out by design. A clutch in 185k miles would be pretty much expected.

And the UAW doesn't have Ford by the family jewels?

Last I checked a 17.5% stake in a company has never been a controlling share. Saying the union controls the company is laughable. If anything their stake will actually make the union less likely to do something idiotic, like strike when their company is having financial problems. If they strike the value of their stake drops like a rock.
