I am a Libertarian. I dislike Bush and Kerry as choices. I happen to dislike Kerry more.

With that said, I was more afraid that Kerry would be elected and we would be stuck with at least 4 years of his sorry butt and possibly 8 years.

At least with Bush, we might have halfway decent choices in 2008 from both parties. I just wish there would be some voting reform so that 3rd parties have a chance. I just know that will never happen.

So all the Kerry fans can just hope Bush doesn't screw up much more(not much left to screw up) and we have some quality choices in 2008.

3rd party people can just be disgusted that these two clowns are the best choices that the Reps and Dems put up.

The Difference is that the Republicans don't realize what a clown the Dub is while most Democrats knew that Kerry was a clown.

Indeed. Couldn't agree more.

 to another third party voter.

If they knew he was a clown, why'd they run him anyway?!? Bush all but handed the election to the Dems through his self-inflicted wounds, and they respond by finding a clown even less worthy of the office. To me, it was clearly the Democrats' race to lose, and they found a way to lose it.

True that! I guess they figured that the Americans would have realized what an incompetent President the Dub was. I guess they figured wrong🙂

Oh, he's a clown alright, but not anymore than Kerry. That's the problem.

Yeh the Dub is a clown, but if he was truly so bad why could the democrats not come up with anyone other than Kerry and a trial lawyer veep to boot. I would have considered voting for a democratic candidiate had he not been on the ultra liberal side of the spectrum. Especially since there will probably be 3-4 justices possibly retiring in the next 4 years.

As a liberterian, the potential supreme court appointments should worry you as much as it does me.

Red, I'm afraid there aren't too many people here who will recognize that line. 🙂

I for one watched the President with a cringe through the debates, as he stumbled about with his answers. He seemed really to be a bumbler.

I don't know that I would call him a clown - lets just say that he was a lot like Truman. This link - http://www.techcentralstation.com/102604B.html - makes a really interesting comparison between now and then - and the simular candidates - on both sides.

I find it really interesting that the popular vote was the largest ever. Wonder what group made that happen?

The Dub couldn't carry Truman's jock!

When the Democrats start presenting candidates that weren't dredged from the bottom of the slime pit, they may recover. This election was mostly against the Clinton machine and Kerry, not so much for Bush. It may have had something to do with the attempt to win Florida with lawyers last time too. Most of us silent majority types would rather just ignore the whole process and leave the voting to those who are into that sort of thing. I think we felt called out this time. Clinton was bad enough, Kerry was terrible, and Bin Laden was the last straw! When I went to the polls, what I saw were a lot of gray heads that had built this country from WWII to now and hated to see it squandered by kids who don't see the real dangers yet. I'm a little too old to go to war anymore, but I can still stumble down to the polls to vote. Economies recover and sometimes a nation just has to fight for what it treasures. I probably won't post anymore to this forum. I just entered it for the elections run up. In the future, I'll just watch the Hot Deals and techie forums like I have done for a year or so. I enjoy those much more! Infohawk and DonVito, you can rest easy now. I?m done! Conjur, you are pretty good for a liberal. I respected some of the stuff you posted. It was fun.

The old farts will. That's one of my favorite songs from the 70s.

(Except the chorus is actually "Stuck in the middle with you." I understand about poetic license though 😉 )

Actually it was Steeler's Wheel, which Rafferty was a part of before going solo and churning out a few hits on his own.

Back OT: (kinda) It's time for the libs to stop with all the "clown" monikers and namecalling. The election is over and done and the negativity and name-calling is what lost it for Kerry in the first place. Why maintain a grasp on a losing trend? Try to figure out how to make changes in a positive manner and it will have a far better effect.

I also noted the manifest absence of younger voters when I went to the polls, the ones I saw were there with their parents & grandparents.

Agreed, it was a giant douche/turd sammich choice. Kerry just stunk of Brahamin, didn't play to the NASCAR/Fundamental crowd @ all, even the Democrats knew he was a weak choice.

I voted a split ticket, and while I voted for the Giant W. Douche, I picked more Libertarian candidates than any other party in the contested elections.
