Wrong. They can ask you for any form of ID they like and most often will ask you for D/L, registration and insurance. A co-worker was nailed for a seat-belt ticket as a PASSENGER! Photo radar can nail you with nothing more than your face and license plate!

And here again, if you are in the country illegally, you will not have proper identification anyway. If you ARE legal, you are REQUIRED TO CARRY YOUR GREEN CARD WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES ANYWAY SO IT'S A NON-ISSUE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!

All the liberal arguments have been curbed. These folks typically drive unregistered vehicles, have no insurance, have no ID or are found using a fake ID and when they cannot speak a lick of english I can tell you right now if I'm a cop.......I'm taking action because these people are a HUGE liability on the road.

My wife works for a large insurance company here in Los Angeles. Wanna know why we have over million dollar limits on our half-million dollar homeowner's insurance?? Because driving on the roads is a HUGE liability that citizens take seriously because we have something to lose!!! Illegals do not, because they don't!!!

I'm not heartless, I feel for Mexicans living in a 3rd world country....HOWEVER.....The U.S.A. is not a charity, nor a philanthropic organization......we are a COUNTRY!! With LAWS!! (And as has been hashed out over and over as well.....the most pissed about ILLEGALS are typically those who came here LEGALLY and get shit on by illegals doing whatever they want, penalty-free).

The progressive argument on this one is dead. Ignorant...and dead.

these laws don't mean shit because:
If you have a name, date of birth, and location of birth, you can get an official birth certificate.

Plus, where i live, they can't pull you over just for a seatbelt, you have to be doing something else. it's an add-on ticket.
