Backstabs don't do damage, they just kill you - so the shield necessarily negates the backstab entirely.

The clues are there, in some of the spawn points there is a locker that has various items from the characters. Above the pyro's flame suit and next to her mask there is a handbag with a flower on it.

I don't know... I think it'd be possible to have a non-overpowered permacloak, it would just have to be very limited in terms of how quickly it drains when you're moving and how fast it recharges when you're standing still. I'm guessing it would have to drain at about double the rate of the stock cloak while moving. You'd still have to find a safe place to let it recharge. If you just charge in, you'll end up running out in a bad spot and either getting hit by a stray shot (revealed) or you'll have to keep running and run out of invisibility (revealed).

What prompted this realization? I mean, is it referenced in the sniper/spy update anywhere?

Ah I see now. Thanks CrackRabbit.

The original blog posting said "When the Pyro hears about this she'll be inconsolable."
It has been changed since.

I think this means that once razorback has been used, sniper will not know for sure if it had killed spy or not.

The Dead Ringer seems like it would need to teleport you away a small distance to be useful. Other than the shotguns, everyone can spray when going after spies.

Great, they just made a strong class (the spy) even stronger. holy crap this is going to suck for us non-spies.

These spy changes are interesting. I'm not sure how they'll play out just yet.. I'm definitely not screaming OP just yet.

OK, stupid question: how does one get to use these updates to the classes? Do you have to achieve them, or are they there for everyone? If you need to achieve them, what exactly has to be done to get these for the sniper class. That's really the only class I play recently.

U have to get achievements for that class to unlock the weapons or whatever

The update's not out yet, so we don't know. Presumably, it'll work like it did for the other classes, where you have to earn 5 achievements for the first unlock, 10 for the second, 15 for the third.

Think of the poor engineers. The spies will crush them even more now.

come on, spies ain't that strong, just check your six. The dead ringer is only good to fool non-pyro noobs, but cloak and dagger though, seems to be a real nice enhancement in large maps.

Yea but you should be constantly checking for spies anyways. Spy is the hardest class to master and can get very frustrating for people to play as even with the update. Most people won't play as Spy anyways as most don't have the patience.

I agree... Most of the time, it's not that the person playing the spy is a great player, it's just that the opposing team isn't bothering to spy check. Or isn't paying attention when they see a friendly player running the wrong way. The people playing spies tend to be ridiculously predictable. They wear the same disguise, they hide in the same places, the run the same route, etc...
