Day one: Yes you read that right the sniper is getting a bow and arrows. Have fun pinning people to walls and then picking them off. Personally I think it will be great seeing scouts nailed to the walls everywhere.

Day two: OOOH night maps AND weather! This should make things interesting. I can't wait to see what the community mapmakers do with it.

Day three: The Razorback Shield anti spy device. Kinda nifty, not quite the anti-spy device some were hoping for, but better than getting back-stabbed.

Day four: Lay your weapons down and walk away.
This brings up the question; Are the items shown for the sniper real?

Day five: Meet the Spy and Achievements!

Day six: Now i just need to find a photo of my enemies mother!

Day seven: So Valve wasn't joking about Jarate!

Day Eight: Update is live!

Nice! Finally, something that fits the character well and doesn't simply repeat what the existing weapons did (for instance, the Heavy update just gave him yet another spinning gun as his secondary weapon, Sasha already did just that, and the Pyro received yet another flame-thrower, but the first one did just that as well, and the Medic got basically the same gun twice, only that the second one gives him health, something health kits around already did, and so on).

That's going to give me a good reason to actually play the Sniper.

One of these days I might have to reinstall this game. I got bored after the first couple of weeks (the game doesn't have the depth of the older TF games) but with all of these updates it might keep my interest a little longer.

Totally agree with Zenoth. The other updates were way too shallow. After 5 min I was like "meh, same stuff".

This looks cool.

I can't or don't feel like keeping up with the speed of the game anymore. Too fast, I'm getting old. Slow down you punks.

You must be 100 years-old. Even for the young guns TF2 is classified as a slow-paced multi-player focused game. If you want to die instantly I'd suggest you to play Quake III Arena and the original Team Fortress.

You know, I kinda feel the same way. There's just too much stuff happening.

Yes! Everyone pretty much knew it was going to be something like this (bow + arrow, shorter range but faster reload) but I'm really happy that my class of choice is finally getting the update!

Everything can have a crosshair, even the unscoped sniper rifle. It's in the basic setup menu in TF2.

The Sandman's ability to stun is an awesome. Gives the Scout something extra. The Bonk! Atomic Punch lets Scouts get past Sentries and can help the team in many other ways. Sandvich was a good little addition so Heavies can run away and heal back up. Also Natascha slows down the enemy which is something you want sometimes. Slow them down and let your teammates kill them. The Flare Gun lets Pyro shoot people from afar and since most people will go heal up when on fire, it keeps them from pushing. Saying all the unlocks were pointless is just not true. If you know what you're doing, every unlock has it's place and time.

omg I did not know a crosshair could be created for the unscoped sniper rifle (has this always been in the game?)

I shamefully play with a dot drawn on my monitor because I would sometimes play against snipers that obviously had an unscoped sniper reticle (which I assumed was drawn on), but now I can play knowing it wasn't an unfair advantage just ignorance of the feature

I'm curious as to exactly how it lacks the depth. I'll be the first to admit that I would take Q1TF recreated in Source over TF2 any day. I loved Q1TF to death. Really though, how much less depth does TF2 have? They took out grenades (which I do miss), and detpacks. Ok, ok, so other class changes here and there (no flame rocket, etc.) as well. But they added things here and there as well such as the uber, multiple weapon options, etc. I really wish they'd put hunted in.

No scope awp'd ftw!

As for the sniper. Sweet. I've been waiting for another class patch, I thought the scout patch was fun, but I got bored fairly quickly. Scout just isn't my preferred class.

yeah the scout patch wasnt that good. its banned in a competitive league and i dont see many people using the bat anymore because it disables the double jump.

its funny though. if you play on any high skilled servers you will notice how barely anyone uses the updated weapons. i think the only one i see often is the natascha.

I use the Sandman with the scout depending on the map. As long as you have Force-Of-Nature out as well you can use it to double jump.. of course.. it takes 50% of your loaded ammo to do it. Jump, spin, fire, spin.. still may be more work than it's worth.

As far as the other weapons.. eh, I use all the medic upgrades frequently. The upgraded syringe gun is on nearly 100% of the time, and ubersaw is on 100% of the time.. and I alternate between uber/krtiz frequently depending on the situation. Obviously the KGB/Axestinguisher are on all of the time. The backburner is somewhat of a rarity for me.. depends on team make up, but I much prefer blowback. The flaregun is nice.. but I use the shotty more often. Same with the sandvich vs shotgun.

I think the "upgrade" weapons are fun, and depending on the team make up and game situation I may use them. With a good balanced team of fairly skilled players.. I find the original weapons to be just fine.
