The US would be fine without Texas ports and refineries. Why would it change anything? Is Texas going to secede and then suddenly decide to bankrupt itself by shutting off some of its most important export industries?

The only way that would happen would be in the case of a war, and Texas as already been on the losing side of one of those. Despite all the tough talk I doubt they want another beatdown.

I was sort of happy to see Obama use something similar to what I've been saying for quite awhile now. Gas was that cheap because we were in the middle of a worldwide economic collapse. We could certainly get it that cheap again, all we need is another worldwide economic collapse. The world might melt down, but gas will be cheap!
