Wow, talk about bigoted, but hey, it is Texas. From a radio ad of a guy that teaches a handgun safety class:

"We will attempt to teach you all the necessary information you need to obtain your [Concealed Handgun License]," the ad says. Then towards the end, it adds: "If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law."

And then: "If you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you the class with no shame; I am Crockett Keller, thank you, and God bless America."

Can you say Bigot? Insane right-winger? What an pathetic idiot. I'll await all the usual pathetic idiot right-wing trolls to support this.

Look forward to this guy losing his gun license.

He seems really clueless on how un-American he is.

Of course he is from Texas.

Ad for gun training bars Muslims and Obama voters

A radio ad for a handgun training class that bars Muslims and Obama voters has sparked an investigation in Texas.

"We will attempt to teach you all the necessary information you need to obtain your [Concealed Handgun License]," the ad says. Then towards the end, it adds:

"If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law.

"If you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you the class with no shame; I am Crockett Keller, thank you, and God bless America."

Keller, 65, has said in media interviews that he just regards the message is just common sense.

"The fact is, if you are a devout Muslim, then you cannot be a true American," he told local news station KVUE, while fielding calls congratulating him for his stance.

"Why should I arm these people to kill me? That's suicide."

"I call it exercising my right to choose who I instruct in how to use a dangerous weapon," he added.

But the state of Texas may disagree. The Department of Public Safety said in a statement that certified instructors of handgun training are required to comply with all applicable state and federal laws, and added:

"Conduct by an instructor that denied service to individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion would place that instructor's certification by the Department at risk of suspension or revocation."

It seems unlikely that Keller will back down, though. "I'm not going to do it," he told the local news. "I will give up my license to teach before I will teach them," he said, referring to Obama voters and Muslims.

How do I know he's a Texan? I'd like to see his birth certificate.

Talk about bigoted, but hey its GarfieldtheCat talking about Texans.

What the guy is doing is pretty bigoted though lol.

Isn't he allowed to refuse to teach people though? It's not like its employee discrimination in which case there could be some legal action against him.

I don't support this guy, but this is a nice example of people who are furious when people generalize about Muslims or some other group but then do the exact same thing with regards to Texans, gun-owners or what not.

So I have to ask, what does he post here under?

I wouldn't give much credence to this, the DPS will yank his license to teach CCL courses and he will still be an insane right wing idiot.

he's barring muslims, and according to the article, he may loose his license on that alone;
But the state of Texas may disagree. The department has said it has begun an investigation.

And unless you tell him, how would he know who you voted fore anyways. It not like that's a public record.

I took my CHL renewal class outside of Orange, Texas and the first thing the instructor did was ask if anyone voted for Obama. No one said yes, so he said he didn't have to kick anyone out that day. Then he played a slideshow of various racist\political humorous pictures. He ranted about how we should be afraid of China, and India and the middle east for a while. Out of a 4 hour class, he might have talked about the changes to Texas CHL law for 15 minutes. /shrug

Turn him in to have his license revoked, then sue privately as well.

It's his business. It is his right to provide this service to who he wishes. It is not your call.

I don't think I'd want to learn how to use a gun from a man who seems to be the real life version of Yosemite Sam. I don't see how a man with this narrow of a view could possibly teach people the safe use of firearms.

Actually, he doesn't have that right. Didn't you read the thread, flower mound?

Then take him to court.

He can give the class to whomever he wants. I do not think the State has a dog in this fight.

I know that is is a sort of derail, but are you saying that in the same vain those muslim students at the Catholic University have a case that the school must bow to their request for a place to pray that is in compliance with their, not the Catholic, religion.

It's the same thing. We either have freedom or we don't. Choose.

How about shooting themselves / someone else in the face while trying to clean it.
Or any other accidental shooting, most could have been prevented with proper training.

I agree. Those are stupid things to do and screams...lack of training and good sense.

And then people wonder why other people do stupid things with firearms. :colbert:

Same reason people do stupid things with cars.. people are stupid.. has little to do with training and more to do with common sense. People in the military do stupid things with their weapons as well, just ask anyone who served.
