U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman went missing for two weeks then blasts the media for essentially ignoring him and chasing meaningless stories. there has to be more to this the whole story seems odd.

Didn't this happen not that long ago with another Rep?

GRRRR...I hate my memory. But this sounds really familiar.

I had the same thought, I think it was a State Rep (not sure where) went to see his mistress in Venezuela? If I remember correctly at least that guy made up some odd story about hiking somewhere before he left.

If a politician went missing and no one in the media was around was around to report it, would the public give a shit? Now I think we know the answer to that question.

Then Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina, now Congressman.

I don't get this why would the guy go missing to test the media? Why miss votes over something? What the hell is going on here?

http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/bestoftv/2014/01/27/nr-todd-mia-congressnan-returns.cnn.html

The guy is allowed to travel, I am not trying to say he cannot he is also entitled to a personal life however it seemed to interfere with his State responsibilities.

Would you feel better if he had been there to vote 'present,' like Obama did 129 times in the Illinois legislature?

That is not the question, the whole story sounds really odd and disorganized to me.
He is not my representative but if he was yes I would prefer that because at least he was present and at work.

lulz. It was the Governor of South Carolina. His aids told the media that he was "hiking the Appailachain trail," because, you know...it totally makes sense that a governor would suddenly start hiking the AT without any prior scheduling.

:D

Oh yeah, he's gone.

Oh wow, really? o_O

Governor Mark Sanford, South Carolina, and an Argentine mistress. Claimed he was hiking in the Appalachians.
