Holy F. HAHAHA.

I actually know a woman with a really overweight girl. She's 10 years old and about 115 lbs. She is tall, but also thick and frankly overweight by about 20 lbs. Mom doesn't see it at all. The whole family eats pasta for every fucking meal.

I do believe society has lost sight of what is a normal weight.

How on god's blue earth did this reach 13 pages. :hmm:
Because this is guaranteed to get a ton of responses. Any thread about:

1) Personal finance
2) Weight

Go make a new thread right now asking people what they think a reasonable income is to live on comfortably and it will explode.

How much of my personal finances should go to maintaining my weight?

I love this thread. Fatties got devastated here.

Yes yes, the tremendous sting of getting insulted by basement living uber nerds who struggle to talk to a female irl. I'm sure if the chick this thread is about saw it she might kill herself from the severe devastation of ATOT idiots not liking her.

Alright. I'm going to go over this one more time.

First off I know that I haven't been much better than the 'haters' in here and for that I apologize. I'm guilty of letting my emotions through because I know first hand what obese people really go through.

Yes I've been up and down the scales more than a few times and I've been as heavy as 387 and as light as 215 as an adult. I'm 6'0" and 219lbs at the moment at no greater than 19% body fat (measured when I was 230). My weight is high because I have alot of leg muscle from carrying my weight around for so many years.

Anyway I know that motivation and will power are factors in physical fitness but I don't believe that to be the end all be all. You see the my last weight loss endeavor was doomed to fail because I was struggling with temptation the entire time. I had very little control and I had to keep my empty of food so to help stave off temptation. It lasted 3 years and then I put it back on.

At 387 I was at the end of my rope and near giving up but decided to give it one last try. I got help from a pill (phentermine) but I knew that long term success was very limited and that I needed to make a permanent change. Knowing that I had a sweet tooth I decided to treat it like a drug problem and abstain from sweets forever. Even with the pill I was miserable, grumpy, had difficulty focusing on my job etc. It was really hard for a couple of months. But eventually I adjusted and now it's been over a year and I don't need a pill and I feel it takes almost no effort to stay away from junk whereas it used to take everything that I had.

I was unaware of 'sugar addiction' at the time I made the decision to abstain from sweets so in a sense I feel like I got lucky when I made that call. Knowing what I went through I have strong reason to believe that cause people to overeat that go beyond 'willpower' or motivation. If it's a mental/psychological disorder, then it needs to be treated like one and we really aren't doing that. You don't just tell a kid with ADHD to 'pay attention' or a lady with schizophrenia to 'just ignore the voices'. Some conditions need medication, some need counseling, some need both. I'm not a doctor and I don't smoke and I'm only a social drinker/pot smoker so I had no experience dealing with any kind of addiction.

The thought to cheat crosses my mind from time to time, but it's just a thought I don't dwell on it for hours like I once did. It only takes a fraction of the willpower it once did to eat healthy on a day to day basis. And it were as simple as it is for me now and I had never experienced the 'before' phase of my addiction; I'd probably be on the other side of this debate telling the fatties to get off their ass. But the problem is that I was there and to be honest there is a part of me that doesn't blame other people for resigning to the fact that they'll be obese for the rest of their life because I almost gave up myself and I'm not sure if I'd be willing to go through it again. Luckily for me I'm still young and I'm not under heavy stress due to finances, job, marriage, kids, etc like many adults go through. Combine that with the hardship and I see why so many people fail and I see myslef as only one relapse away from being a hog again just like a recovered addict is one hit away from being a junkie again.

Ooo that bitch pisses me off. Shes the one that whines about "healthy food being too expensive". One of those dipshits that thinks weightwatchers ready meals are the be all and end all of healthy food.

Probably never set foot in the fruit and veg aisle. Has never tried oats. Dosent know about skimmed milk.

How the fuck do you know who these people are? And why?

Goddamit, for the last time, of course genetics, age and a variety of other factors are involved. THAT STILL DOES NOT ABSOLVE THE INDIVIDUAL OF BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR LOWERING THEIR INTAKE. Bully for any person who can eat 5000 calories and not gain weight. Clearly that isn't true for fatties. They need to cut back, and stop trying to tell everyone else that fat is beautiful just because they're too stupid and/or weak to understand the simple relationship between consumption and weight gain.

Yeah, I know that. I was responding to whoever it was that said there's no way you could eat "however many it was" calories a day and not be a whale. I did just that when I was younger. Can't do it now.

LOL, I remember when I was about 14, I tasted Twix for the first time and went nuts over them. There was a KMart nearby, so I rode my motorcycle up there every day for nearly 2 weeks. Bought one of those big boxes of Twix, ate the entire thing in bed every night before I went to sleep. Yep, an entire BOX of 2-packs of Twix. Every night. After eating normally (for me) all day. With a couple of big glasses of whole milk. Gained not one ounce.

Again, can't do that now, so I don't. But it's certainly possible if your metabolism is high enough.

I don't have an issue with people being happy with the way they are. I do have an issue with the acceptance that being obese is an excuse to shame people that are in shape. Time is the number one excuse. People dont have time to workout, or ride a bike. We have eased into this lifestyle in the western world that promotes comfort rather than hard work. Obesity is just one of the many consequences of laziness. It takes effort to go outside, take a walk, jog, ride a bike. You don't have to hit the gym and have some sort crazy cross fit lifestyle. Just manage portions and keep some heart pumping activities in your day.
But I guess the norm is to stuff your face, guilt shame people in shape as being vain or insecure.
I don't expect my lifestyle to match everyone else's. I realize I have genetics on my side, but it took discipline and some time. I've been accused of being vain just because I have defined abs, but I dont expect everyone to have that. And I'll never shame someone that works hard for what they do. She doesn't work hard. Powered scooters and special circulation enhancing socks is her future. And that is disgusting.
She literally has the bare minimum for muscle to be that huge and only 250. There are plenty of hefty women out there that can move around effortlessly all day, move stuff around without breaking a sweat or huff and puff. She is not one of those. She is a pampered hedonistic comfort-whore.

Nice generalization, but you're wrong. Again.

Vocal fat acceptance advocates get named and shamed on the major fat hate discussion boards. Then they cry on Tumblr when people recognize them in real life and throw some insults their way. Then they use their tears to brine an entire turkey and eat it.

This, x-Eleventy.

"Plus size", means a girl is a bit overweight. Maybe 25 lbs or so. Not 100 lbs. That's "morbidly obese".

And yes, it's just as bad as the models who are skeletons.....although I'd wager the skeletons have lower cholesterol and aren't diabetic risks.

Sad to see society coming to this: Making excuses and claiming "I'm comfortable with my body type" as an excuse for eating terribly and being fat as a result, instead of working to get in better shape and lose that weight.

There's going to be a terrible price paid by these people when they get older, if they stay this much overweight. They still have the same joints in their body that were designed to support much less weight. They'll be in their 50's and walking around feeling 80.

Oh, and yeah...tats are hideous, esp the ones like this whale has. I could deal with a couple of smaller, discreetly-placed tats, but not exposed and huge ones like this.
A tattoo has never, ever made anyone look better.

It's because we've downgraded our standards as a society. If you tell people that they should fo something about their weight you get called an a-hole.

This is why children as young as ten are developing type 2 diabities. This is why the US military had to let go 10% of all new recruits because they were obese. In just 5 years it's estimated that 50% of new recruits are gping to be ineligible for the military due to weight issues. If you don't believe me, look it up on CNN.

It's going to be interesting to see what happenens to America in 50 years.
