People needs to be informed that they're eating crap.

So putting the nutritional information right on the box is not enough? Alrighty. Just had to make sure we are on the same page.

So basically a Big Mac has less calories than a foot long subway?

But is a Big Mac a foot long? Look at the nutrional facts. The Big Mac has 30 grams of fat compared to 9/10 for most of the subs. The main thing I notice is that there is a higher level of carbs and that is expected since you have more bread. Also notice how the sodium is in both of the Big Mac and the foot long is really high (I wish both would be cut). Finally, who eats a Big Mac without fries and a soda? I enjoy some fresh veggies with my sub.

Most people order fries with their Big Macs. If you just get a Big Mac or a Whopper, fast food isn't THAT bad for you. When you add the fries and soda, though, it gets pretty bad.

Yeah well who goes to Subway and doesn't order a drink? You can also make it a meal by adding 2 cookies for an extra 50 cents or something.

I almost never order anything but the sub unless I very rarely (once or twice a year) sit in and eat it there.

Ditto. And years ago when I worked for Subway only a minority of people ordered a drink/cookies. I would imagine most people eating at McD's order a meal (drink + fries).

Also, I wouldn't normally eat a footlong. That's a fucking huge sandwich - who needs that big a sandwich for lunch?

I don't get a drink or cookies. i just get the sandwich. the drinks (coke) suck and i bake better cookies at home. But i always get a foot long but rarely eat the whole thing. most times i eat half then have the other half latter

While a Big Mac turns to sewage when it goes cold, an Italian BMT is supposed to be cold and it never goes bad. On friday I bought a footlong at 10am and was eating it all throughout the day. I took the thing home from work and had the rest for supper. The other thing is that mayo and italian dressing soak into the bred and it tastes awesome.

Italian BMT's rock my socks. It is the greatest lunch + dinner in existence. Toasted at first, still good later.

I didn't know they started doing that in the States. They haven't here but that's pretty nice. I almost always flip the paper on my tray to figure out the calories and fat of what I'm having at McDonald's. Despite people bitching about it I would like to know the nutritional content of some of the meals that I eat at restaurants. All of my friends and colleagues here eat out almost exclusively since we do not really have kitchens of any appreciable size. It would be nice to be able to have more insight into how eating out is structuring our diets.

Never tried this, but yeah sounds awesome. But this isn't the same as eating 12" of sandwich for lunch.

They've been doing it here for years. Anywho all the information is available on the website for anyone who cares to look.

You mean people don't get subway with chips and a drink? Apples to apples Big Mac is still half the calories.

1 calorie = 1 calorie = 1 calorie = 1 calorie

Prove me otherwise

All else equal eating a 800 calorie meal from McDonalds is better over a 1500 calorie meal from Subway. Unless you're a fat fuck like fuckus GI is meaningless.
