Feb. 28 ? An Air India jetliner en route from London to New York is being carefully monitored by authorities after concerns about a passenger on the flight were raised by an airport security screener.
ABCNEWS has learned a screener at London's Heathrow Airport thought one of the passengers who boarded the flight may have matched the description of a person on an international "watch list."
However, after the screener was questioned further, authorities said there was now only a 50-50 chance the screener had actually identified a person on the watch list.
Air India Flight 101 left Heathrow this morning and is due to arrive at New York's John F. Kennedy airport at about 4 p.m. ET. The FBI is expected to meet the flight.
It is traveling at 37,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean. Canadian fighters were deployed to shadow the aircraft from a distance so as not to alarm passengers, U.S. government officials told The Associated Press.
U.S. fighters were expected to escort the plane once it entered U.S. airspace, the officials said.

<< Not seeing this anywhere on the news >>

The media doesn't have enough info to break in and do a whole report on it. All they know is some guy is onboard that has a name similar to a suspected terrorist.

<< Well the plane should be landing now, so I guess we'll see something soon. >>

it was to land at 4:05 but its landing at 4:55 EST

Dammit, I knew my flight delays were the work of terrorists. I've been saying it for years and no one believed me.

LOL...Canadian escort planes!!!

I dunno why, but when I think of the Canadian Airforce I always think of the Snowbirds aerial group and those crappy little red and white trainers that they fly...always good for a laugh!

AFAIK Canadian AirForce flies only CF18's as their primary air platform. I could be wrong, but I've never heard of a CF-16.

No word yet on if the guy is actually wanted, only that it's down safely.

hehe when i think of the canadian air force, i think of those pics someone posted awhile back
the one with the guy strapped to the planes wing holding a gun
does anyone still have that one? 🙂
