Air India = mostly International Flights.. ---> had a plane hijacked in 1978 and blown up in mid air.. that was the last time india has flown any transpacific flights.

Indian Airlines = Mostly Domestic Flights --> this got hijacked in 1999.

Some stuff I copied off of Dow Jones

-- DJ Person/Air India Flight -3: Spotted By Screener -ABC --

A report on the ABC News Web site said a security screener at London's
Heathrow Airport thought one of the passengers who boarded the Air India flight
may have matched a description of someone on the terrorist watch list.
But after the screener was questioned officials said they believed there was
only a 50-50 chance the person involved was actually someone on the list, ABC
News reported..

Well it hasn't been 'hijacked'. Atleast, no info. on that.

What has happened is, AI officials or LHR officials have notified the FBI that there is a passenger on this plane that has a name similar to a person who is on the terrorist watch list. Whether this is that person or not, it remains to be seen. The FBI is currently monitoring this plane and will assist it once it lands at JFK.

They just said on MSNBC that two Canadian warplanes are shadowing the plane. Under different circumstances, I would now be making a silly comment.

I'm guessing it's Air India flight 101.... a 747-400 arriving at JFK 3:45pm from Heathrow.

I'm watching it with Flight Explorer.

There is a reason why Canadian Fighters are behind it.. The last time an Air India plane blew up it blew up in canadian airspace.. it had just taken off from Toronto.

Look at all the wonderful things we've learned in the last few weeks...

For example, we now know that Canada has both warships and warplanes! Would anyone have believed that if these claims were made a month ago?
