I am not the one suggesting we take away the rights of more people as you are, just pointing out that exceptionally strict gun control does little to nothing to stop those motivated to kill

If where I live is an example you'd think they would have banned pressure cookers by now

Why not offer up of some of your own nuggets of wisdom on the subject at hand, my question would be are you a gun owner or have you ever used a gun?

I live in a state where there are exceptionally strict gun laws and folks here got killed with modified pots and pans as well as guns...all our gun laws do is burden those who follow them.

And pretty soon it will be a moot point as anyone who wants a high capacity magazine or a fully automatic weapon will be able to 3d print one at home.

I don't believe the right to own slaves was in the Bill of Rights. Regardless, owning slaves is obviously a violation of a person's rights. Owning a gun is not, apples and oranges.

Freedom carries responsibility, the answer shouldn't be take it away, especially when that freedom is safer than other freedoms that kill far more that no one care about. Did you know for every firearm murder in America almost four times as many innocent people die from second hand smoke, and no one gives a shit? Wonder why that is...

CDC - ~41000 second hand smoke deaths a year.

11,208 firearm related murders in 2013 (I assume we are in the same ballpark the last few years)

Gawker has a story and MSNBC is doing an interview with someone. Allegedly he was a regular at the bar for some time and may have had gay relationships.
 
I had a strong suspicion that this was motivated by self loathing and repressed homosexual feelings. Believe me, don't believe me, I don't care, but this was an attack on gays and not a political statement.
Considering his 'revulsion' by seeing 2 men kiss, no surprise this attack was motivated by something other than a religious jihad.

Yep, and his hot 2nd wife had recently left him. They're saying he'd been there a dozen times.

And who knows what mental gymnastics he went through to justify his actions, although he was lunatic enough to have been reported to the FBI, twice.

There are quite some reports on the web now with people claiming they seen him going to various clubs for at least three years, including one former classmate who claims he was gay and some people talking knowing him from gay dating apps.

In how far those things are credible, I don't know.

But yes, add 1+1 together, would make sense...

I don't believe it was just self loathing and being gay.

Consider who his father is. what his father has backed.

More i think on it i think its a combination of the two. One he is gay in a very anti-gay religion. With a father is pro taliban. The indoctrination he gets at home coupled with his private life fucked him up.

So he does what his father talks about. kills the gays and in the name of isis. to make his father proud and prove he is a good muslim.

In reality it changes little. besides maybe making people just a tad bit more disgusted with religion.
 
And his father was presumably trying to save his own skin in his community by alleging his dead son to be a straight homophobe.. What a wonderful person..

Why keep bashing Islam on this? There are many rage filled closeted gays. From strict religous backgrounds and secular.

I knew one kid in HS that killed himself bc he was gay and was afraid of his Christian father. (closeted, admit in his suicide note before he hung himself.)

It doesn't help, but this isn't exactly a new thing

because he is Muslim? if he was christen i would mention them. IF he was buddest i would mention them.

As I said early in the thread I don't understand it. God is all powerful and all knowing. He knew that he would make some that like the same sex. GOD has the power to change it. yet he doesn't. so some book says hey kill gays. god is to lazy to do it.

fuck that. seems either God is All knowing and powerful or he ain't and makes mistakes. you can't have it both ways.
